Marriott Portland at Sable Oaks - South Portland

Located in a quiet business-park area, easy to find, not too far from restaurants, etc. Best part is the free parking--often hard to find at Marriotts. We were only there one night but enjoyed our stay.

Overall the hotel is fine if you're not someone that cares much for technology. I couldn't log onto their wireless internet and they sent me to tech support where I was hung up on twice. So I had a two day stay without internet in the year 2011.

our stay was fine the room was spotless,we had breakfest,it was verygood.I would recommend it to family or friends.

Although I called 4 hours earlier prior to arriving to confirm my top floor reservation not near elevator or vending, my room was on the 4th flr out of 6 floors directly across from the elevator. My room had used tissue in the unflushed toilet. My night tables lamp shades had dust so thick on the top and bottom rims it was falling off in chunks. Very nice place. The people at the desk were very professional, courteous and friendly. We took advantage of the restaurant for both dinner & breakfast and had a good experience from the service to the food. Only disappointment was not automatically having a refrigerator in the room.... had to be requested. Many of the Marriotts we stay in not only […] have a fridge but most also have a microwave. This was a nice hotel, had a lot of amenities and was very comfortable.

Stayed in S. Portland Marriott and first the room they assigned was not made up from the previous night (this was 7:30 PM checkin) Went to supper at the hotel restruant only to have our meal come out wrong twice. Then to top it off a wedding was taking place which after the reception closed at 1 AM they moved outside till early morning with fights and […] foul lanuage. we enjoyed our stay here - easy to get to, close to lots of restaurants and stores, and only a 5-10 min drive into downtown Portland. Comfortable and clean. We would stay here again!

The hotel is very nice, with a great pool -- I didn't encounter any of the cloudiness problems listed in another review, and wonder if possibly that person was seeing the walls of the pool, which cause it to *look* cloudy. Convenient, efficient, clean, comfortable. Excellent experience.

I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel where my room was not cleaned after a full day out. We left Saturday morning....returned late Saturday afternoon and our bed was still unmade, towels were strewn around and there were dirty coffee cups on the furniture. When I called the front desk I was told that the cleaning staff […] worked until five a they generally cleaned the rooms first of people who were checking out and since we weren't checking out we were not a priority!! She said if we left the room they would come clean it..but we were TIRED having been out all day and really wanted to crash. Eventually we went down to the pool for a while and I called the front desk to let them know. Someone came in and made the bed...and that was it!!! I have to say I was shocked. I mean isn't that why we stay in hotels....so we don't have to come back to a messy room? I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Marriott. I consider myself very fortunate in finding hotel accomodations for my family in a very secure, upscale neighborhood during this time of the year. If I am ever in this area again, I will definitely select this hotel for our vacation needs. Thumbs Up, Marriott! Thanks for the experience, Marriott!!!!

Good location, quiet neighborhood. Free wireless high speed internet but they should charge a minimal fee to customers to actually have a working connection. My internet connection did not work the whole time I was there, very poor service on that side.

outside of Portland...less than 10 minutes to downtown, easy from 295 and 95. Clean , comfortable, staff was nice. Hotel was very busy due to weddings and a conference, but no noise heard in our room. Pool area very clean. Food was quiet good for a hotel. Easy check in and out.

well i check in and the front desk people were very short with me, I got quite a few dirty looks from them, through out my one night stay, as i would go in and out to smoke. i can definitely say they did not make me feel comfortable in the hotel. This is not the Courtyard Marriott by the airport, but is actually over by the mall. Wanted to move my reservation to the Courtyard as that is where everyone else stayed. Staff was willing and friendly, but ended up not being able to because of hotels dot com. Room and staff made up for everything. Room was new, clean and very comfortable. We had a very nice stay, we were combining our anniversay and a trip to Rochester NH for family Christmas Party on Sunday, We had our two Brittany Pups with the which the hotel was very accommodating, Room service was great food excellant, breakfast next morning was wonderful, very relaxing and comfortable stay, would definately stay there again

The room was VERY nice and very comfortable. My only 'complaint' would be that the heating system was a bit loud. Other than that, everything else was fantastic.

The room was comfortable, especially the bed. The room was smaller than expected. The location is convenient to the mall and chain type dining, but quite a distance to the Old Port Area.

The hotel has made some upgrades, but feel the facility is still old, a/c units noisy, elevator lobby ceiling tiles old and dirty.

There are beautiful location in this State. It seems less than ideal to place the Marriott outside of a mall area. I realize it is close to the airport which might be a big appeal for some; I was looking more for environmental ambiance, like near the water. Short drive from the airport. We were just there overnight on our way to northwest Maine. Because our flight got in late, there was no one to greet us and check us in when we arrived. The room was nice and comfortable, but there was no mini bar. The hotel restaurant was closed and there was no place nearby to get a bite to eat. (Due to the short time […] between our flights, we had not had an opportunity to grab a bite at our connecting airport and were starving by the time we arrived in Portland). Portland apparently closes down at 1:00 a.m., so by the time we were checked in at @ 12:30 a.m., it was too late to try to go into town. The hotel had a limited selection of snacks and soft drinks, but all the way downstairs in the lobby. There were no vending machines on the room floors, which was very inconvenient, particularly, as the desk clerk was only at the desk if he had to be. The hotel was completely sold out, but the staff kept their cool. Quiet, nice pool, has the essentials for exercise facility. Comfy bed, great shower. Hotel restaurant was very good, but a bit pricey at dinner. I'd stay there again.

My wife and i enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms, very nice atmosphere. This hotel is very close to many restaurants, the Portland mall, and the interstate. I booked this hotel for the proximity and for the indoor heated pool and hot tub. Would love to visit again.

The room was a good size and clean.The king size bed was firm but comfortable.The hotel was centrally located off I95 and had easy access to 295.The hotel had all amendities at the location, including internet access in the rooms.It was located within 100 yards of a nice public golf course. Marriott beds are the most comfortable - but need better pillows. Also, room too warm at night to sleep comfortable tho - can't turn the AC down below 62 degrees - wanted it set at 60 degrees - the comforter is too warm, and just the sheet is not enough. A nice establishment thatis conveniently located. Knowledgeable staff. Due to renovations and improvements at the time we were unable to enjoy all of the hotel's amenities.
