Clarion Hotel Portland - Portland

We stayed in a 1 bedroom, clean (except for a spot on the couch that seemed to be there forever), very comfortable. we slept like babies. We will book again for sure.

the toilet is not that clean but the bed n hotel environment is very comfy n peaceful.

I recently stayed at the hotel on St. Pattys day with a few girlfriends- the staff were super friendly and helpful- even handed us taxi vouchers for our girls night out! We stayed one night prior to flying out in the morning. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay again.

LOBBY IS NICE, CLERKS AT FRONT DESK WERE VERY NICE AND PLEASANT. ROOMS NEED BETTER INSULATION, NOISE LEVELS WERE DISAPPOINTING FROM NEIGHBORING ROOMS. VERY CLEAN AND GREAT LOCATION

It wasn't bad overrall. The room was very cold when we got in but the heat kicked in fast. Our room smelled like men's cologne but it wasn't a deal breaker. My only real complaint would be that there was no a) fan or b) heat in the bathroom. Even a heating bulb would have been welcome. But it's a GREAT deal and a really good location. friendly staff at check in; pool and hot tub made for a great ending to a hard day's work (thought pool water temp too cold and hot tub too tepid) so I thought this was going to be a 5 star experience. BUT the restaurant was AWFUL! Except for myself the only patrons were military personnel who were served free meals; clearly that meal contract supports […] their business because the selection was bad, no healthy options and the food preparation and presentation was also not great. Would recommend getting in a new restaurant. The other problem was my room was across the hall from housekeeping and that door opend and closed regularly until late at night and started at 4:30 in the morning preventing a good night's sleep as did the airplanes overhead and the train nearby. Not to mention the ac/heat was making the room too hot or too cold; never got quite right. To rub salt into the wounds housekeeping left only decaf coffee in the room so after a rough night's sleep was really disappointed their was no regular coffee in the room. This hotel was below average. It smelled really badly like cleaner or bad cologne. The pool was blue it had so many chemicals in it and the hottub smelled like clams

Shampoo was crappy but everything else was alright for the price

Stayed here twice; very satisfied. Right off the highway but close to old port and Great Lost Bear (!). Restaurant was closed for Thanksgiving, but they had a complimentary continental breakfast instead; very accommodating!

The Clarion met most of our needs - very clean, staff very pleasant - however, most motels nowadays offer a continental breakfast included. This motel did not and we were somewhat disappointed -a small matter.

I was a little apprehensive when I drove up to the Hotel as the parking lot is in below average condition. But inside was very very nice. My room was clean, staff was very helpful, free newspaper and lots of pamphlets for info on the town. It is located right off the highway but is too far from downtown to walk.

We stayed at the hotel a couple weekends ago and had a great experience. The only complaint I really have is that the pool was not really warm enough for swimming. We have two small children and it would have been nice to have a nice warm indoor pool to take them to in November. But everything else was great... service, cleanliness, professionalism […] of staff, I have nothing bad to say. Even the room service was some of the best I've ever had. Probably would consider staying at a hotel closer to center city Portland next time, but that is just for location reasons alone. All in all, a great experience and a great family weekend. The Clarion is well situated near the Portland Int'l Airport, and has a great pool, jacuzzi, and attached bar (Pete and Larry's). The only downside is that it's not really within walking distance of anything, at least not at night. It is within earshot of Hadlock Field, the Portland Expo, and (yes!) Denny's. Hi Bathroom bowl was not clean. WhenI woke up there was blood on the sheets and not mine. Because I booked through an agent Hotel.com I was not able to the room for free. Nice that there is no recourse for the customer and everyone gets paid.

Good hotel formerly luxoury hotel so built well. Only 2 negatives, Breakfast buffet a bit pricey. Bar food is not so good but drinks are good. But for a hotel it is just fine.

We stayed 10/13 weekend. The hotel lobby area and the room was clean upon arrival, the bed was comfortable & made daily and fresh towels supplied but the bathroom floor or tub was not cleaned daily. As for convenience , we drove so it was convenient to get around and fairly close to some main attractions. We like the Clarion Hotel very much. We found it in the beginning because it was close to the Air Port - about 2 miles - and have stayed there several times. When we need to spend a night in Portland, we always stay at the Clarion. The food in the restaurant is excellent. We have no complaints at all about this hotel.

I chose this hotel for the ease of hopping on and off the highway. I was in Portland on business. The hotel looks elderly, chipped at the edges and in need of a thorough cleaning. My room was on the top floor, there is one elevator in the hotel. The hallways were littered with bits of food....animal crackers, chips, paper. Hotel nseemed shabby for the price

This was the best experience to my 13 yr old going to the beach. He hadn't been to OOB since he was 3 yrs old. The commute was great. 20 minutes. I told my in-laws about what we had to the motel they had right on the beach and they are going to stay here next year. We will be back!! Thank you!!

the hotel was average, the staff was above average, good customer service. The ice machine and soda machine was out of order for the whole time we were there. Very inconvenient.

On our return trip, we got a different room on the third floor. This time we got a room equipped with a fridge and microwave oven that were not provided on our previous visit. This time the location was not convenient as we wanted to go downtown for dinner. It was a Sunday and the last transit bus was 6.15pm. arrived after midnight at the airport, hotel shuttle stops at 10.00pm. friendly greeting and welcome at check in. Loved the king size bed with great pillows. For this occasion the location was ideal as close to bus and Amtrak depot for our bus trip to Camden, ME. On site restaurant open for breakfast only, featuring a buffet. No restaurants near by, […] only a grocery store across the street that makes sandwiches. Food available from the hotel's room service, although have not made use of same. Very quiet, clean and comfy. Really needed to rest after a long drive, so we arrived at the family reunion in Standish, Me. very refreshed. Did not like Pete and Larry's Restaurant on premises, slow service, food so so, and high priced. Hotel was great though.

This is our 2nd time staying here. The Clarion is now our hotel of choice for the Portland Maine area. The rooms are always clean and do not smell. The staff is great. And best of all is breakfast in bed on Sunday mornings. Gotta love the room service.

The hotel staff was very helplful and courteous. Their shuttle drivers were prompt and dependable. The tub drained slowly, but the room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bar in the hotel serves the best reuben sandwich that I've had.
