The Marquette by Hilton - Minneapolis

The room at the Marquette were clean and spacious and for the most part the service was very good. However, on our last day there we were trying to recieve calls in our room, but the call was then diverted to voicemail after one ring. My friend's mother was trying to get through to the room on numerous occasions, but never could. Our only option was […] to call out and get charged the hotel fee and pay the long distance rate to Canada - or use our cell phones to make the call and be charged roaming fees. We mentioned it to the hotel, who sent a maintenance person up to fix the phone, but it was beyond his abilities. It would have been nice or courteous to allow us to make the call for free, given that we were unable to receive calls in our room. It would have gone a long way to provide that kind of customer service. Funny that they charged us $3 for room service fees and $3 for a tip for two $10 glasses of wine, but couldn't provide use of their phone for free. További részletek

We thought the hotel was really great and our room was spacious and that is what we needed. I wasn't expecting to pay an additional cost on top of what I paid and didn't realize that I had to pay more if I had more than two people.

We stayed at the Marquette for two nights and were pretty happy with it. The rooms were quiet and comfy and had plenty of space. Everything was clean. The shower was unusually nice compared to most hotels - really good water pressure and a big bathtub. I appreciated that for my sore back. The only small problem in the room was that the radio/alarm clock […] was only partly working (some of the buttons didn't work). I have run into that in a lot of Hilton-branded hotels with the same brand of clock, I guess they are not too reliable. Not a huge deal since the alarm and clock parts worked fine. We were put into a handicapped room that backed onto the elevator. We asked to change rooms, which they did. With our booking we were to have complementary appetizers, but were not told that it ends at 7:00 p.m., we arrived at the hotel at 6:30 p.m. The room was very nice, very comfortable bed, room service was good.

I've always liked this hotel, but it just has a little bit of staleness to it. The outside walls/windows seem thin and there was a constant barrage of sirens and thumping bass woofers from the cops and cars 13 floors below. Overall a good stay, but not overly impressive. The location is great and convenient for walking to a lot of nearby popular destinations. The front desk service was friendly and helpful (I asked about nearby restaurant suggestions and was given several ideas). The rooms are generous in size but feel dated in decor. The bed was extremely comfortable. […] The biggest downfall was the paper thin walls. We could literally hear conversations next door and while in the hallways. This was a 'romantic getaway' trip and it's hard to feel like you have privacy when you can hear your neighbors so clearly.... nice place to stay but I don't know why they have to charge you for internet access when it's free in the lobby. we could only use one device at a time for internet access which was inconvenient. next trip I will be looking for a hotel that offers free wifi in the room

I was in town with my significant other for a quick weekend getaway. We were pleased with how easy it was to get to so many restaurants, shops, bars - and Nicolette Mall is RIGHT there. very nice hotel and especially convenient as it is connected to the skyway and during winter months this is invaluable. the only negative was the kingsize bed - very soft, and therefore it was uncomfortable for two. otherwise a very nice experience.

This hotel is awesome. Easy access to Skyway system. Lots of things close to the hotel. Rooms are very nice, beds are super comfy. Checked in and recieved a free upgrade to upper floors which gave access to lounge, with cocktails and free food. Great Hotel!
