Hyatt Regency Newport - Newport

The hotel was very nice! Our room was very clean! We had a great view of the water and the bridge. The lounge, restaurant, and workout room was awesome! Hopefully we will return to Newport and we would only stay at the hyatt!

Our "waterview" room was true to it's description, what they left out was "air conditioner, vent and rooftop view". The hotel is on a tiny island so every room has a water view, when you extra for a water view then you expect more than what we received. There's also the matter of "resort fees", in the off season (thankfully) they charge an additional […] $20 per night for parking, valet service, "complimentary" water and WiFi. The WiFi was problematic and the signal was weak and in my dictionary "complimentary" doesn't cost an additional $20 a day. the hotel for the most part was very nice. Having booked the special gave us a bottom floor room that was very small, a bathroom door that came off the runners and I was locked in for quite sometime unable to get out. The furniture for the room was to big. We kept stubbing our toes and shins. Charge for parking, wi-fi. Sauna is part of spa not hotel so not open for use. It's on an island so there is no other parking option. Indoor pool small not clean. Hotel was not full but we were put next to elevator-very oisy.

Hotel was nice, clean and in convenient area. Shuttle was awesome for going into town. Staff was very helpful and friendly!

Booked through Hotels.com, so paid very reasonble price which for its location, was incredible. Staff was very helpful with a great sense of humor. Shuttle service was timely and reliable. Had a terrific time.

originally booked a smoking room but was given a non smoking room. hotel immediately gave us a new room however a little disappointing they offered nothing for the inconvenience. room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful room. hotel has good food.

the two double beds are full sized, not queen, so if you're there as a couple, don't think you can fit comfortably into one bed. the indoor pool was loud and crowded, when we went back later the water was murky. the outdoor pool seems to be under construction and there was no hot tub, which was disappointing. they were completely booked up the weekend […] we were there so we waited almost an hour after the check in time to get to our room. we had hoped to check in early but we waited at the bar. When we finally got to check in, i heard them giving other people vouchers to use at the bar to wait, but they didn't offer that to us even though we had to wait an hour. In general, none of this left a great impression. we had a night away without the kids and chose this hotel because of the location on the water, the views, and the photos made the facilities look somewhat nicer than they were. the views are nice and the location isn't right in town, but it's not far. they were waiving the resort fee so parking was free. Everything was perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The view was awesome. And everyone manager, and staff person at the Hyatt was extremely helpful and friendly.

Had a great one might stay. The staff upgraded us without even asking. Everything was upgraded and very nice.

Very nice hotel. I almost felt like it was too nice for me. The staff were always friendly and they were there everytime I looked.

Shower took a while to get hot water. Menu book was soiled. Otherwise very pleasant stay

great location for New Year's ---if you are not partaking of the festivities at the hotel. They provide a shuttle back and forth to center of Newport. But it is also convenient for walking there if the weather is good. Every room has a view and it is quiet and pleasant. Great stay!

As advertised, up to the standards that Hyatt has set. Quite a walk into town, though.

Lots of kids for hockey tournament all over the hotel, fan in bathroom did not exist, bathroom lights shined into sleeping area (windows in bathroom wall), and air conditioning blew directly on our faces all night. No way of adjusting the direction of the air. Food from downstairs was not very good. Staff was friendly enough. Overall, just ok.

Everything was fine about the hotel and I enjoyed the spa with great staff, although the 'relaxation room' needs a major make over! Depressing and gloomy. Great Location

The hotel is on an island so it is a little further walk then the others in the area to down town. The benefit of being the only hotel on goat island is the 270 degree view of the ocean. The rooms were beautiful and the views on the corner rooms were spectacular. The extra $20 resort fee for parking and internet was annoying.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful from the minute we walked up. They asked us if we needed any help with luggage, the hotel treated us like family the entire time we were there. The bartender was very friendly and recommended some good areas to visit and eat. I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. I would like to see the food service personnel wearing clean clothes. Windows in the breakfast room were dirty. When the rotating door is out of service, as it was, it would be good to have a staff member standing by to open one of the side doors. Aside from this, we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is very close to all the Newport museums, restaurants, shopping centers and many diff activities. The hotel is on its own mini island (that offers great privacy) with spectacular views of the bay and sunsets everyday

Loved this hotel. A great location. Near to everything if you don't mind a five minute walk across the bridge, and a beautiful setting surrounded by the bay and harbor. Clean rooms and a friendly staff for the most part. The staff in the spa was a bit snobby, but I am not sure if the spa was run by the hotel or privately.

A bad experience. They gave me a very noisy room, near the "machinery" room place. I asked for a room change. They offer a "smoking room". My family and I do not smoke and are sensitive to smoke oddor. So really we had "no option". The worst is that in addition to the noise, the air conditioning was not properly working so the room was noisy and warm. […] You can imagine the night. Additionally the Hotel "Charged" extra 30 dlls for a "Resort Fee", that really is a trap. It includes free parking, but then they charge you the valet. Includes two bottles of water and "internet access". I dont recommend the hotel. Additionally the view is not nice (perhaps only on the top flors) and you get an extra 30 dlls charge. I was very impressed with this hotel. It is coneniently located, the grounds are very tastefully done. The rooms were very modern and clean. I have no criticisms about the hotel's form, structure or services. I was disappointed however at check out when I was charged with a $35 per room, per day "resort fee.". I had reserved 3 rooms for my family and […] relatives, had not used any of the resort facilities and still had to pay $210 on top of the Hotels.com booking. I've never written a review of a hotel before but after staying at this one I had to write one to warn other people to stay away from this god awful place. If you are going to spend a good amount of money then you would expect that the hotel would be really nice and have large rooms. You get neither here. The hotel rooms are small and there is a lot […] of noise between rooms. The A/C units are built into each room and make a lot of noise when they cycle on and off all night long. Between it cycling on and off we could hear our neighbor blaring his porn at full volume at 3am in the morning. After listening to this for an hour, my wife called the front desk and they went and knocked on the person's door and they stopped. I know this isn't the hotels fault but it may be indicative of the guest that stays there (I don't include myself of my wife in this category as we were forced to stay there). The outdoor seating next to the bar is right next to the dryer vents and all you can smell is all of they chemicals they are using to clean the sheets. The wait staff was nice but the people staying at the hotel were all a little strange and they had bouncers at the bar which I found strange. There were also signs saying please be quiet at night - so I am assuming that this hotel must get lots of noise complaints from guests. To be fair - we didn't use any of the amenities there since we were there for a wedding next door (Belle Mer). I may have had a different impression if the we utilized all of the hotels amenities - we were just looking for a comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. The walls between the rooms are thin and you can hear a little too much of your neighbor's business. The weather was not nice - overcast with rain so that could have also tainted my impression. I went to a conference at this hotel and instead of staying a few blocks away for a lot less money, I decided to spend the extra money for the "comfort" and convenience. There was also a dance competition going on there and there were (what seemed like) a million kids running up and down my hall, yelling and screaming until about midnight. Once again, […] around 5am, it started all over again. What little sleep I got, I got with pillows held over my ears. I talked to the front desk about it and they seemed disinterested and also would not let me get a late checkout. As I went to checkout, I was asked how my stay was and I reiterated about the constant kids keeping me awake and all she said back to me was. "do you need any help with your bags?" I never complain and it was hard to even bother venting about this issue being so exhausted from lack of sleep, but that comment made me so irrate that all I could do was grin and say "no, thank you" and walk away. I went to my next hotel room and instead of spending one of my days on vacation doing things.. I spent about 3 hours of this day taking a nap in my new quiet hotel room. További részletek

Did NOT like the initial chech-in, "we add a service fee to your room" gig! Disclose, disclose, disclose!! At/before time of booking.. Parking garage is riduculuous!!

Hotel was very clean, staff incredibly friendly and room was small but nice. The only weird thing was that the bathroom didn't have a fan and had a sliding pocket door that didn't close all the way.

Even in the winter, this summer resort was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely accommodating, service was excellent, the room was beautiful, and the view better. The hotel included a health club and other services at a very reasonable price. Since the property is on Goat Island, there is a shuttle van provided to get into town, although […] you could walk over the causeway. The only complaint we could muster was the small size of the elevators, which created a bottleneck at high traffic times. Nice hotel. We attended a wedding on Goat Island and it was very convenient to stay there. Newport is fabulous. We spend a lot of time there. Especially love it off-season!!

Let me first start off by saying this is a very nice hotel. It's very kid friendly...almost too kid friendly for a couple with no kids. The room was very spacious and everything was quite clean. I chose to ignore (for whatever reason) many of the posts that discussed the uncomfortable nature of the bathroom. Not only was there no fan, which seems so […] odd to me, but our bathroom door wouldn't close. Having said that, that was the one thing I really didn't care for in the hotel. There's a starbucks downstairs which was very handy to have. Yogurt and coffee is all I need for breakfast, and they had it all. I would recommend this hotel to others, and may stay there again. I may also try out the Marriott though. The shuttle was very convenient to Goat Island, so I was more than content with the location. További részletek

The hotel has beautiful water views, however the seagulls start making noise at dawn and are quite loud!
