BEST WESTERN HOTEL METROPOLI - Genoa

Nagyon jó szálloda, a vasúti pályaudvar közvetlen közelében. Kedves, családias személyzet.

This hotel is definitely not a 4* hotel, at least the rooms we had. It may have been a 4*, but long years (decades) have passed since then. What never could make 4*: first we had a dark small room with windows to a dark internal court, with a few meters to the opposite rooms' window. Then I requested another room, the woman at the reception and a man (a manager?) decided to swap the room to a brighter one. Thanks for them, it saved our holiday. Our second room was better. Its windows also looked at a court, but it was a bright, spacious court. (They mentioned 'giardano', but only 1 or 2 plants represented the world of gardens. But no problem, it was far better than the other one.) However, this is still not a 4* room. No problem, we probably would not spend the real price of a 4* room, and this room was really not too expensive, even for a 3* price level. One thing that was probably OK when it was really a 4*: only one of the 2 elevators are working, and there is no staircase (only in case of fire), so we had to wait for the lift a lot. There were also smaller problems in this room: it had a kitchenette, but no kitchen tools at all. And it was good this way, because the cooker did not work at all. The fridge was so noisy that we switched it of for the nights, as we could not sleep from its noise. The bathroom was clean and well equipped, but it was dark, a single lamp (that would just fine for shaving) was the light for the whole long room. The TV was quite small, but it does not really matter, as only Italian channels could be seen. The room also was a little bit in the evenings, there were too few or wrongly distributed light sources. The parking is really a pain, but we knew it in advance from the Hotels.com page of the hotel, so no surprise: this is related to the place of the hotel: small and crowded streets, huge traffic in this area of Genoa. By the way: the hotel is rather good for the ones who want to walk in Centro Storico, in the Porto Antico, etc.

A szoba szép bár elég kicsi. Az ablak elől a függönyt nem érdemes elhúzni, mivel a szálloda háta mögötti elég lepusztult részre néz. Sikátorok és elég ronda házak.. Kicsit problémás még a gépkocsi parkírozása, m ivel a szálloda parkingja kb. 100 -200 m-re van a szállodától, a kocsit 15 perccel a tervezett indulás előtt kell a recepciótól kérni. Ekkor előállnak vele. A parkírozás napi 18 EUR, szerintem drága és a szoba árában benne kellene legyen. A szálloda hallja gyönyörű. reggeli a tető teraszon fantasztikus.
