Ariston - Róma

The hotel personel were very nice and helpful. The rooms were comperable to american rooms. The location right next to the terminal station is awesome. Lots of resturants nearby. Would stay there again. The only negative was the squeaky elevator.

On arriving our directions were mixed and we finally found that the hotel was a very short walk from the Rome train entrance. We could not have been a better location. It was convenient, clean, and staff was knowledgeable. But it was way too HOT and they couldn't seem to get the A/C working--it was blasting out heat. Opening the windows made it noisy and there wasn't a breeze, so that didn't help. Otherwise, it was fine.

The staff were unhelpful and condensing. There were several things that were inconsistent, the bar/lounge was to open at 5pm, and offer free snacks, I waited until 5:30 and nothing happened. I felt unwelcome.

This is our second stay at the Ariston. The location is excellent, about a 5 minute walk from Termini Station. The breakfast is superb, and there are many restaurants to choose from within a four to six block area. The room is small but adequate for our needs, and the shower is fantastic!

4 stars price for 2.5 stars service. Poor service of receptionist (the senior one). Not considerable. Poor air conditioning toilet. Cold in winter time. You can find a better hotel in Roma easily. Not recommended.

Hotel is located close to Termini station a 5 min walk. Close to all attractions. You can even walk to some. Santa Maria magiorie a 5 min walk. Breakfast included was excellent. But it is not that bad unless you are use to expensive hotel. This was a 4 stars hotel but in USA standards would be a 3 starts. I am a women traveling on my own and I felt safe walking at night from hotel to trains or bus station. Did not ate at any of the surrounding restaurant but there is plenty to choose from. This hotel is really just a block away from the metro and rail service so even if the surrounding neighborhood is not great, you are minutes away from taking in the sights of Rome. The staff was warm, welcoming and efficient. Our room was comfortable, clean and nice. Everything was in good order. The room was very nice, but of course a little tight by U.S. standards. The neighborhood was colorful, but extremely close to the metro and Termini Roma. Great for getting around and to other cities.

We stayed here recently for 5 nights. Very modern light and bright with marble entrance foyer internally, a little 'tired' on the outside. We had a very comfortable clean refurbished room on the third floor, a large comfortable bed, linen changed several times and lots of hot water at any time for showers etc. The air conditioning was efficient and […] although our room overlooked the front of the building I only needed to use ear plugs once. Breakfast was perfectly adequate with a variety of choices to suit most tastes. The hotel is stuated in a very convenient location, not far from the main Termini station. This also gives you easy access to the 2 metro lines and is only about a 15-20min walk to the Colosseum. We had been been advised that the area near the station was perhaps a little rough. However, we found the local area around the hotel to be very vibrant with lots of small shops and stalls served by people from different cultures. At no time did I personally feel threatened or uncomfortable when walking around. Obviously be sensible and be aware of pickpockets but that is general advice when travelling anywhere in Rome. Our stay didn't get off to a good start - we were given our room and upon arrival there we're two plumbers working, but one of them immediately went downstairs and within five minutes we were in a different room. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly in helping us find some top restaurants and night-life, providing us with addresses and maps so we knew exactly where to go. They were also very helpful when stumbling in drunk at 4am and had a laugh with us! Complimentary breakfast was better than expected, they have something for everyone. Location of hotel was pretty good; if you like walking then you're fine or alternatively you can grab the Metro from Roma Termini station which is only a stones throw away from the hotel. Termini has access to all lines of the Metro (there are only two) and from there you can get to all the key spots. The Metro is inexpensive, unlimited travel a day is only €6 each! Our airport shuttle bus also dropped off and picked up from Termini so was perfect. The surrounding area seemed to be a little bit dodgy but don't spend much time there anyway, so bearing that in mind and the slight hitch upon arrival I would give our stay a 4 out of 5. I stayed here in July. I had booked a single standard room, but got upgraded to double.The room had a bed, tv-shelf unit with a fridge, one chair, two bedside tables and a bathroom. The bathroom had a shower cabin, sink and toilet (and complimentary toiletries and a hair dryer). the shower cabin was quite small for a 20 something, quite slim woman. […] The room had no space for a larger luggage, but it bothered me little since I was only staying one night. The tv was really old, but the internet signal was strong and fast enough for email and youtube. The front desk spoke excellent English, and were very, very nice. The breakfast had a good variation of foods, warm and cold, but not 4 start standard in my opinion. The elevator was broken and would not go up to my level (1st floor), but it did go down from my level. All in all, I got a good deal on my room, and I was happy with what I got. Great location! Staff were really hospitable. Liked our room a lot. Read previous reviews and yes, the elevator was small and the bathroom was small, however, this is Europe and most places don't have the same size elevators and bathrooms as in the States. We went to Rome, Pisa, Florence and Venice and this was my favorite hotel.

Room and the Hotel itself was very clean. Reception staff was very helpfull. Breakfast was fantastic.We had to buy our own tea & milk as was not provided enough. We will give it ten out of ten.
