Hotel is a longer shuttle ride to the airport (20-30 mins) and you have to call shuttle but it is efficient and serves the purpose. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Hotel is two stops further on train but cheaper ($8)than top going to Newark airport ($12.50). I would stay here again if returning to New York city.

The neighborhood was typical urban New Jersey... not fabulous, not terribly scary. The location is right next to a shopping mall, several nice restaurants, and movie theater, so that is convenient if you don't have wheels. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and quiet. we spent there our holyday Eve there and had a wonderful time, the place is very neat and comfortable! 100% recomend!

The only bad thing I have to say is about the shuttle service! Absolutely do not rely on it as half the time you won't be able to get it (maybe because it was New Years weekend). Every time we wanted to use it, they were picking someone up somewhere else and the staff couldn't even tell you when it would be back so you couldn't even book it for later. […] Also, sometimes when you were waiting to be picked up from the train you would wait for 20+ minutes. The hotel is one mile from the train so why does it take that long? Most the time we ended up walking instead of waiting for the shuttle. Great service, clean and updated room, great price, only half hour drive to Manhattan. Only drawback was the hot water for a shower would only get warm if you waited a few minutes and never got hot. Far exceeded my expectations and I would stay again.

I recently took a trip to NYC for New Years and was just looking for a place to stay outside of the city so that I could rest my head. I wasn't looking for the greatest but something that was nice and comfortable. What I got was more than average. Such a relaxing experience and a wonderful and nice staff.

I would stay in this Hotel again. Very friendly staff and excellent location to have a trip to NYC.

This hotel was great--wonderful service, great breakfast, close to the train station, comfortable and clean room with a microwave and mini fridge. The guy at the desk in the lobby was very friendly and courteous. They even deliver the newspaper to your room! I absolutely loved staying here, and I will stay here again if I come back to New Jersey.

The only problem we had at the hotel was getting the breakfast buffet. The room holds 86 guests and unfortunately both mornings we had difficulty getting a seat. There were several bus loads of tourists who all seemed to come to breakfast at the same time. My sister and I arrived on November 19, 2011 and, as usual, the clerk was very welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast displayed a good variety of foods each day. The hotel was the closest we could find to NYC for the most affordable rate. 40 min to Manhattan still not that bad considering. It was clean, quiet, secure and the staff were friendly. Hotel was well located for our daily trips to Elizabeth. Free breakfast was outstanding. Nice to have coffee/tea available all day. A good Asian Fusion restaurant was a short walk. Other food, movies, shopping nearby. Fit iur requirements perfectly.

Its not the first time I book this hotel!! I love the rooms, unfortunately, my staying was the same day as the snow storm, and the hotel didn't have electric power. They had a generator but it was just for the emergency lights. I didnt get charged for the room that night. apart from that, LOVE the hotel!

Enjoyed our stay here. Hotel was clean and in great area. Burger king across the street and amc theatre behind hotel. Applebees in parking lot.

I liked the hotel as it is very close to a shopping mall and has few restaurants including a burger king very close by. Got a AMC movie theater also very close by in case you wanna watch a movie. The room was comfortable but could do more with some new furnishing and furniture. Bathroom was clean, though faced some minor issues with hot water on checking-in, […] which was fixed quickly. This hotel is a great place to stay when you are in the New Jersey area. Close to various stores and restaurants as well as Linden Station. This is an ideal hotel for commuting from NJ to NY. The staff was awesome and meet my every request. I will be staying at this hotel again when I'm in the NJ and NY area.

we were very pleased with the hotel, staff, location and surrounding places to dine. The only problem we encountered was trying to check in an hour before check-in time which is 4:00p.m. my husband and I needed to get ready for a wedding that same day which started at 4:00, however, we were told our room would not be ready before then. needless to say, […] we were a 1/2 hr. late for the wedding. The service was outstanding. We got there a little bit before check-in but were still able to check-in immediately. They were able to fulfill my request for a non-ground floor room and the gentleman behind the desk was cheerful and friendly. We were even given a room with a refrigerator and microwave (the microwave did not work, but that was not a problem). […] The breakfast was better than expected and the staff was pleasant. The room was nice; it was neat and clean. The bathroom was modern and mold-free. They had free wi-fi as well as cabled internet connection. Very pleased with accomodations. Breakfast was good for a free one. The shuttle service that went to the Linden train Station was very convenient as well as the one going to EWR. I would highly recommend it and would stay here again!

Went to NYC on labour day weekend. was very pleased with our stay at this hampton inn hotel. Looks like the hotel was newly renovated. Hotel room was very spacious. Free hot breakfast was a sure win for this hotel. Free parking is available too. Location is okay. It's a bit of a drive if you're going to manhattan however there's a plaza beside this […] hotel that has good restaurants and shops. Clean rooms super soft comfortable bed. Felt like I was sleeping on a Clouds.. Great place very helpful staff.. All pros over here no CONS but 1. Wish I could of stayed long :-))

Great place to stay. Metro into NYC is only 5 minutes away -- very convenient. Easy to get to -- right off of Route 1. It's right next to a mall. Plenty of restaurants around. Breakfast was good and included. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

First night we were in a room with heavy A/C on top of the room. You can imagine, There was no way anybody could sleep in that room, (so noisy). When I complained that night, I was told there is no other room available. The next day, we were moved into a new room, but instead of 2 queen bed, there was a king, and spring sofabed, (for 9 remaining night […] sleeping on a spring sofabed was very uncomfortable) there was no other room available. We came from KY on the way to JFK Airport; the hotel was a practical stopover. Close to the main south road to JFK without too much morning trafic. The room was nice and comfortable and the personel attentive.

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond my expectations of a Hampton Inn. They made us feel like family. The only downside was that my granddaughter left her camera in a bag on the shuttle. I called the desk as soon as he pulled away from the train station. No one else was on the shuttle. The desk FAILED to communicate with the driver and the […] case and camera dissapeared. If he had been told as soon as the shuttle returned to the hotel, as she said she would do, we could have gotten her camera back safely. This was an unfortunate incident that could have...should have...been avoided. Even though this happened, Teresa admitted she was busy and failed to tell him. loved the hotel!!! the pool isn't too big, but the rooms are very nice! the bed really soft, the stuff was nice to us and the location of the place is great! Movie theater, restaurants, target, Old navy and even Starbuks right there!!!
