Convenient, reasonably priced hotel, 20 minutes walk or 5 minute taxi ride from city centre. Friendly, helpful staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over the easter weekend. In a strange location but accessible with short walk to a bus stop and buses into town even on bank holidays. Only disappointment was lack of hot water on last morning. cold showers had by both of us an hour apart despite hotel not being full. disappointing.

It is a good hotel to consider if you stay in Cambridge area.

Very good and friendly hotel with good English Breadfast. Location is not very convenience from the City Centre however very quiet during night time and have clean room and good beds. Will stay again if back to Cambridge.

Very nice, clean, spacious & quiet room. It was very modern and nicely designed. Good friendly reception staff. Free Wifi in reception (you have to pay extra to use it in your bedroom). Big breakfast window , 7am till 11am on our Sunday morning, but the quality of it was slightly disappointing (hot food was either over cooked/cold).

We used the HIE as our base for our son's interview at Cambridge. I would highly recommend this property. The triple occupancy room was more than adequate in size (for UK accommodation). Breakfast was good and free wifi in the great room was of adequate speed. Location is the only issue. Plan on 9 to 10 pounds each way into town.

Room was too small for a family of 4 and the sofa beds were quite uncomfortable. the sink in the bathroom was not draining fast enough. No mention if the water in the bathroom sink is potable. Breakfast was excellent.

Clean good value hotel reasonably close to Cambridge.

This was by the airport, but the rest of the town is over a mile away. The bed was also very uncomfortable. The room overall was very nice. The continental breakfast was also the best I've ever had.

This place good for holiday but away from city and bus stop as well . All staffs were good and friendly,and breakfast is good. The only concern about refund if you book no refund at all.

We stayed for one night to attend my daughters graduation in Cambridge. An excellent hotel, which is in a very good location a short taxi drive from the centre of Cambridge. Breakfast was good, with a lot of choice. Staff were very polite and helpful.

The bathroom was so smoked-in I could hardly breathe. Having asthma, I quickly reported it. I was told they would clean it properly OR they would try to give me a new room. They didn't clean it and I wasn't given a new room either. Rooms are very clean and cleverly designed. They include everything needed for a pleasant and restful night. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, though not wonderful, certainly adequate at the price. A good hotel but please do not use the website map for directions as it is not correct. The hotel when called gave a different sat-nav postcode which worked OK.

Hotel is unpretentious and adequate - and no doubt convenient if you are using the airport! Staff friendly and breakfast was fine. BUT - try to avoid rooms at the front near the main entrance if you want to sleep with the windows open. We were woken up several times by people talking loudly below our window during the night, and I suspect it was the […] night staff having a cigarette break and being totally unaware that guests were trying to sleep! Also, car parking inadequate and we nearly couldn't find a parking space when we came back to the hotel at midnight - this not helped by three motorbikes occupying car parking slots. Paper thin walls in the rooms resulting in sleepless night! Very tastless breakfast. Strongly avoid if you can!

Very nice hotel. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. They billed my credit card twice for room rent, which I found out few days after my stay. It was refunded promptly when I contacted them. Take home message is, very nice accomadation, but check your credit card bill carefully after you check out.

Despite the info stating that the hotel was just over 2 miles to centre of Cambridge this would only be true if you went through the back ways and by ways which are not lit at night. After cutting through the walkway close to the hotel to travel to the centre we soon found a bus that took us to town but even the many bus drivers we asked didn't know […] which bus would get us back, therefore we had to resort to taxis which ranged from 8 to 10 pounds each journey. (Highly recommend Cam Cabs whose drivers were really friendly.) In retrospect it would have been more financially viable to stay in a hotel or guest house more central than having to pay for four journeys a day (i.e. there and back twice). The hotel staff were superb, very informative and extremely friendly. The breakfast was poor. The Holiday Inn Express Cambridge is a modern, clean hotel with free buffet breakfast and comfortable well furnished rooms. Biggest issue with the hotel is not the hotel but its location. It's not close to the city centre and not particularly close to anything at all except its surrounding business park and airport. If you have a car this shouldn't […] be a big deal, but if you're on foot it may be. There are a number of large outlets and several supermarkets about a mile up the road towards the city centre if you have wheels. Biggest gripe with the hotel is there is no free wifi in the rooms and mobile network reception was awful. The reception service was adequate, I arrived at just before 9pm, which turned out to be too late to get anything to eat in the restaurant. There was no room service at all and unfortunately, the minimum of refreshments - exactly two tea bags, two coffee sachets and four mini cartons of milk contained no biscuits. The room rate was what I was looking for in the area and was OK for a basic, cheapish overnight stay, booked at relatively short notice. This was a great hotel -- clean, comfortable, good full Engl[ish breakfast -- except for the fact that it is 10-15 minutes outside of Cambridge and requires a cab ride [about 8 pounds] to get into the city center. I have satyed in HIE hotels before, they are all the same, very nice and clean and adequate for that one-night stay or business trip. The one in Cambridge however, did not have the usual friendly and efficient reception desk staff that I have come to expect from HIE hotels. She got my check in details wrong (due to a lack of basic English language skills) […] and then was extremely rude and stroppy when I pointed out to her that she had checked me in under a different booking name. She then went on to try and pass the buck to me because she didn't understand me! Why do English hotels employ people on front desks who can't communicate effectively in English? tut. Location - Hotel is in the middle of nowere. There are no pubs or restaurants around. Food and service - food is overpriced and of very low quality. This is probably due to the fact that as the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and therefore you do not really have a choice. There were just 6 customers eating at the restaurant and altough we asked the […] waitress twice for some ketchup she forgot and we had to go and get it ourselves. Room - The room we were given was next to the laudry room. On a regular basis there was a noise comign out of the room which made my sleep terrible. My overall experience was bad. Nice and clean value for many

Clean room and friendly service but otherwise more a basic hotel. The free breakfast is really basic and noting to be excited about. Only has very expensive wired internet.

This hotel is located near Cambridge airport, so if you don't mind the sound of low-flying aircraft (of all types - jets to biplanes!) it's in a good location. Our show was a Duxford airport, so let your GPS take you the back way and you'll easily avoid the rather bad traffic through the heart of Cambridge. Beware of the Internet charge! The hotel listing […] shows "internet access in the room" but doesn't specifically say it's free, and it's not. We wanted a bed for a couple of nights at a reasonable rate. This hotel was able to provide our request. Very new & had all the basic necessities. However the first room we were given had a slight leak to the toilet which looked as though it had been leaking for some time due to stain on wall under bowl & there was water round the edge of the toilet […] area which made it a bit smelly. However when we complained they did give us another room which was fine. The drinks at the bar were very expensive. Breakfast was buffet style continental. Good variation & plenty of it. Oli oikein siisti ja mukava hotelli. Hotelli sijaitsi rauhallisella paikalla eli nukuttua sai tosi hyvin, ei ollut lainkaan häiritseviä juttuja sen viikon aikana, jolloin majoituimme tähän hotelliin. Henkilökunta oli asiallista ja mukavaa. Hotelli oli siisti sisältä ja ulkoa. Suosittelen lämpimästi kaikille.

always at a taxi distance and never at a walking distance. Not in the city center, as expected, but in a very calm and relaxing place. but again, if you need to go somewhere, call a taxi.

Veldig all right hotell, og veldig hyggelig og service instillt betjening! Frokosten var en liten skuffelse... det var ingen egg til frokost, ingen kjøttpålegg. Man kann velge fra breakfast cereals (godt utvalg for de som liker det), men mannen min var veldig skuffet. Where are the beans, sausage, eggs, bacon, blackpudding... og alle gode typiske engelske […] frokost saker?? Kaffe var godt, også juice og yoghurt. További részletek
