Econo Lodge Maine Mall - South Portland

If you need a cheap hotel near the city, this seems like a great fit. $15 taxi ride to the stats theater, that'll keep you out of jail. The place is cheap and not bad for one night. The rooms are small and don't have a pull out couch, and it was a struggle to fit a cot, which cost $10. There is a nice balcony on the second floor for smokers.

The good points. The room was clean. The staff was professional and helpful. The location was handy to buslines and the maine mall across the street. The not so good were..first morning waking up. no power. cold room. power was back about an hour after. no bath towels. That night. People above me partying , slamming things, stomping on floor above until […] 3 am. I realized a lot of people here are 'weeklies' when I say weekly rate posted on door. I felt too afraid to call management as I am woman traveling alone. Its a good thing I didnt call because the next morning I realized the room phones were not working! Maids were loud and noisy from 10 til 2 pm ..the good thing though is that my do not disturb sign was respected and no one knocked on my door or worse came barging in. Nothing really wrong with the hotel, you get what you pay for... and we didn't pay much. The one issue with our room was the smell. I realize they have a no smoking policy in place, but it can't be too strictly enforced. The stale cigarette smell was nauseating and hard to overcome.

The staff was helpful and polite and knowledgeable. The room was a little dated and the bath was small. It served me well. The room heated very quickly and it was quiet. I was quite comfortable and enjoyed my stay.

This hotel has a great location for our shopping trip to Maine. It is seconds away from the I-95 and from the Maine Mall. Lots of places to get food as well as great shopping. Great hotel if you are flying to/from Portland Jetport. They gave us a ride to the airport. The room was big, nice and clean. We had two queen size beds. They were really comfortable.

I didn't spend a great deal of time in my room but it suited my needs and found it quite comfortable and clean. The continetal breakfast worked well with my tight schedule and was adequate. The only thing lacking, from my perspective, was some fresh fruit (e.g., bananas or apples).

I was relieved to see our room after all the bad reviews. No cigarette smell, nice and clean, was able to relax and enjoy the surrounding shopping and restaurants. Definitely will stay here again!

Overall facility is worth the price paid. Though some fixtures old, they are clean. Breakfast had more choices than expected. Walking distance to major malls. Bed was quite comfortable, ample space to more around.

I got what I paid for. The room was clean and in good shape. The bathroom layout was poor with the vanity outside the bathroom itself [and in the main room] so when I got up early to shave or jog, I would wake my wife by turning the lights on. The bathroom was barely large enough for the tub and the water closet, plus the door stuck. I would often bang […] my head on the shower rod. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good and convenient. The exterior is run down [a mustard and ketchup color combination] and in desperate need of a coat of paint. To check in, I drove around the building once trying to find the entrance! The form of the building indeed looks like the sparkling white internet picture but you can correct anything with Photoshop. I would certainly suggest this place for an inexpensive, one night stayover but for several days I would go elsewhere. További részletek

Room didn't smell that great when we got there, almost had a bit of a cat smell to it. No pool, my daughter was disappointed. Coffee was not ready when I went down for breakfast. 1st room checked into smelt of cigarettes, asked to move and the 2nd room still smelt of cigarettes but not as much. Noticed a family of 4 changing rooms at the same time for the same reason. Would not recommend this hotel - will be following up with Expedia. Is not a 2*, more a 1*.

We were very surprised to see that the photo posted on the website does NOT reflect the actual appearance, where is that one located?? The office area is not one one on the web site either. The mustiness was overcome by running the air conditioner. The breakfast was poor with a choice of Frosted Flakes and stale Raisin Bran as well as bagels, and pre cello packed pastries and skim milk, even for the coffee. No jam, just butter and cream cheese. The ice machine and printer were both broken. We ended up with having to take a photo of the computer screen to show at the Canadian border if needed to prove our length of stay. Slept well- quiet area and comfy bed. I had an early morning flight, so it was really easy to stay here since it's so close to the airport. They have a shuttle bus and you can leave your car there if you're flying out of town on a trip.

We were attending a conference near home and chose to stay in a hotel rather than have to drive 2 hours early in the morning. WE SHOULD HAVE SAVED OUR MONEY AND STAYED AT HOME! The place is great for economy for sure. The room was spotless. No alarm clocks so it was an issue to wake up and go to a light to see my watch. Dont rely on wake up calls anywhere. Great location. This was my 2nd stay here. The hotel was clean and very nice for the price. My only complaint with the room was the fan in the bathroom was very noisy. I think they were short handed as the front desk person seemed to be doing everything herself and was very abrupt yet polite. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a great stop-over hotel. I have stayed there several times and the room is always clean and the service is great. Grab a coffee and bagel in the morning from the free breakfast and hit the road. Good return for money spent.

I was surprised at the excellent value for the price. The room was spotless and had all the extras I needed. The staff was friendly. My only complaint was the Sunday morning 4:30 am wake up call that I didn't request. Maybe they called the wrong room in error.

Good value for a quick overnight stay with easy access from the highway and gool location near shopping and restaurants. Relatively new but showing wear and not as clean as I would expect. Limited continental breakfast. For a few more dollars, probably could do better.
