From the unknown ahead of time cost to park per night fee I was hit with immediately, to the clothes rack pulling out of the wall when the luggage person hung a shirt on it (no offer to have fixed either), to not accepting cash at the front desk for movies, to being directed to the wrong conference room for my meeting, to having to call for a luggage […] at check out three times - there is no quality or care it seems at Sheraton Hotels - especially in Atlanta at this one. "Nickel and Dime you to death"
The sink has a clog up drain. Reported to the front desk on our way out to dinner. 5 hours later when we return, the sink was still clog up. Had to call again to eventually had it fixed, but what a hassle. Very serviceable hotel for business travellers. Shuttle is frequent to the airport, where I caught the MARTA to the city every day, making travelling throughout the week very cheap and simple. Hotel itself is clean, comfortable and quiet. The downsides for me were no free wi-fi (why?! "Very good value hotel"
As we were sharing a room for the Americasmart we booked a Club Room- worth it for the extra space and the use of the Club lounge. Having said that the promised lattes did not appear because the machine was broken 3 out of the 4 days we were there, and often the regular coffee and hot water for tea are lukewarm. It would be much better to offer a Keurig […] machine. We ended up at Starbucks downstairs instead. ( But why does it not offer unsweetened iced tea like other Starbucks?) Club Lounge breakfast options are limited- fruit, sausages and oats or cereal. Occasionally there are pastries. I wish they would have plain greek yoghurt and granola- so popular now I don't understand they don't offer that. Club rooms are pleasant, beds are very comfortable and with 2 women getting ready in the morning the extra sink is a definite bonus! Staff are pleasant and helpful and the quesadillas in the bar are delicious. The restaurant food is good and better than the average hotel restaurant. "Reserved a King bed - got 2 doubles"
My husband dropped me off at the lobby; he proceeded to find a parking spot. I was denied checking in as the reservation was in my husbands name (although the reservation indicated 2 guests & was billed to MY credit card). We reserved a king bed and were dismayed to find we were given a room with 2 doubles upon entering the room. I called the front […] desk and was told they were out of king beds. The desk clerk should have informed us of this upon checkin. The clerk then told me that he checked us into the "Club Level" floor which included complimentary breakfast at a value of $13.95. My husband was not informed of this when he checked in, thus we would not have know this unless I had made the call to the front desk. The next morning I went to the room which offered the complimentary breakfast to find that they only offered 1 hot food choice (oatmeal) which had about 2 scoops left. They were also out of regular coffee. The attendant said it would be approx. 15 minutes to replenish as he had just begun to brew the decaf. Even if I had been able to get some of the minimal breakfast that was left, there was no place to sit. The room is very small and all the seats were taken. I would never pay $13.95 for this breakfast which at this point consisted of yogurt and fruit as well as juice. The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable with the exception of the air conditioning not working well. Even set at its lowest setting of 61 degrees, we were too hot. Icy machine was broken and noisy. You have to pay $10 for parking, but you just pay $4-5 parking your car in downtown area. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel desk staff were uncooperative and sometimes just plain rude. There was an inconsistency among the staff themselves. The rooms were very small and the bathroom was so small someone could literally hit you in your head if they came in. 30 min wait at the airport for hotel shuttle, then arrive at Hotel to find hair all over bathroom floor in room. "Disappointing Stay"
My stay was somewhat disappointing. I write this an unbiased medical student who tries to be objective. I have had other excellent experiences with Sheraton, and so I have nothing against the franchise itself. To begin with the self-parking if you drive to the hotel is $10 per night, even during your stay. The lobby and restaurant are quite nice. When […] I checked in after booking through Expedia, the clerk had significant difficulty finding my reservation. I was placed on the fifth floor, and upon going upstairs was very disappointed that I had booked with such an expensive room on a floor in such poor shape. The wallpaper was torn, the carpet heavily worn. The room had the feeling of a mid 1990s design and was quite small, much smaller than I am accustomed to (I had a King room). There was no towel rack and the bathroom was the size of a closet. While the room was clean, I think that given the premium one pays to be a guest at the Sheraton this warrants an updated and modern room. The alarm clock didn't work properly, the internet is not free, and the lamps wobbled back and forth on the tables next to the bed. Again this is not the typical Sheraton experience, but given the close proximity of a Hyatt, Mariott, Fairfield Inn by Mariott, Hampton Inn, and Holidy Inn (literally across the street for all of them) I would stay elsewhere.
