Days Inn Clearfield/Layton - Clearfield

The hotel was a bid hrd to spot, its tucked in back from the road, but was pleasant and clean. The guy at the counter was very friendly.

Rooms are ok but some are nicer than others. One room had a heater problem, another burns in the carpet and another had a bad smoke smell. (non smoking) Most of the staff is great but one gal at the day shift front desk really does not like her job. A little bigger budget would make a big difference.

Convenient walking distance from many restaurants and the Layton Hills Mall. Very attentive staff. My room was very cleanly kept. I did have some early-morning knocks by housekeeping on my first morning there, but it was easily amended by putting up my "Do Not Disturb" sign for my remaining nights. Its mind blowingly cheap. my mattress had holes in the sides a la some kinda of drug/money stash place in a bad movie. things were as clean as they could be for being 30+ years old. If you are stranded and have to stay in clearfield, UT, I guess I'd say go ahead, but if I hadnt been here on business, there is not a chance in the world I would have stayed […] at this place. Nice place to stay.....Right off freeway but NO noise! As you walked in it smelled like stale cigarette smoke which wasn't very appealing to us and we must have had smokers in the room above us because we could smell cigarette smoke in the bathroom (through the vent?).... The hotel was an ideal location since my daughter and I were driving back and forth from Syracuse High School for All State band rehearsals. It was a great price, easy to get to, and our room was clean and bed comfortable. Free WiFi in the room which was nice since I needed to do some work from my laptop. Major problem: As soon as you walk into the […] lobby you can smell cigarette smoke -- it's almost overpowering. The smoking rooms are on the same level as the lobby on the wing around the corner. They first gave me a room on the same floor in the non-smoking wing but the smoke just drifts all over that floor and we could smell it in our room. It was so strong that my eyes were watering and my throat started hurting. I finally had to ask for another room on the 2nd level. It was a bit better but the smoke travels up the stairs and into the hallway of the upper level too. We put a towel at the base of our door and that helped to block the smell from entering our room from the hall. Since this is a small hotel, they really need to not have smoking rooms or move them to a wing on the upper level and have better ventilation so that the smoke travels outside rather than within the building. The address is misleading. The hotel is located on a back lot and is nearly invisible from the street.

All of the surrounding hotels at Layton were very expensive! When I found this one I booked it right away. Its relatively close to Layton, and all of their services are at par. You get what you pay for.

Much nicer than Motel 6 for same price. Refrig & lots of TV stations nice. Good front desk staff. Lousy maid service - despite generous tips. Outside doors did not lock as stated. Minimal dining options in neighborhood.

The fire alarm went off at 2am and it took awhile to turn it off, and the back door to the hotel wasn't locked which didn't make me feel very safe.

There was yellow stians on the roof in the bathroom. There were also stains on lower matress. There wasn't a remote for the T.V. so my son could not play his games.The key had to be replaced 4 times for a 2 night stay. The back door said locked for your safety. It did not lock. Not the best motel room, but not the worst either. Cons: The carpets were dirty, most of the rooms were not in good repair (i.e. mold in the shower) Pros: Good breakfast, close location to freeway and our destination, friendly staff

A little difficult to find the exact location but well worth it. Very clean and friendly.

The room was clean but was a room changed from smoking to non smoking without repainting or making a distinct effort to remove the smell of smoke from the room. The customer service was good. The hotel is quiet even though close to freeway, room are clean and neat, breakfast isn't great but gives you a little something to start the day, New mattresses aren't as comfortable and need a pillow top under sheet I could feel the springs. Lots of wonderful hot water and clean bathrooms!

Took 3 times to get the keycards to work, next day they turned off the water for the day, AC units so noisy can't here the freeway next door.

This place gave me a great night sleep. The beds were very comfortable. I did hit the corner of the wainscoating and tore my arm open but they were very willing to help with it. We did go back and stay on the way home and he gave me a discount as I had used them before. I would stay there anytime as the manager is so good. He wants the best for his […] place and keeps it very clean and nice. My sister also stayed there because of us referring them so we got to see them again before returning home. They do not have an elevator and that was a concern for me but they changed us around so that we could stay as I had a stroke and can't motivate stairs well. four inch foam pads would soften the beds greatly. I mentioned that the beds were too firm and she said they were new mattresses. They were not comfortable and we stay here at least four times a year when visiting family. I would recommend mattress pads they need them. fruit and yogert for breakfast like they used too would be great as well.

I have stayed in many Days Inn throughout many years of traveling. I was VERY disappointed with this hotel. When I asked to add an extra night, they originally told me I couldn't. We walked into the room and there were still dirty towels on the floor from the last people who had been there. We had problems from that point on. The lamp shades were filthy, […] the screen was broken, the sheets didn't properly fit the bed. The worst of all is that I had to ASK for our bathroom to be cleaned and even then they did NOT clean the toilet. We had many key card problems throughout the 3 days we were there. It's not the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, but it isn't the worst either. Good hotel, good price, near the freeway. Serviceable.

The room keys did not work when we checked in & once in the middle of our stay. Hair dryer did not work in the bathroom. I called the front desk 3 different times in the evening & no one answers the phone. The last housekeeping was in the room, we had no wash cloths & no coffee supplies. Poor staff attitude.

the hotel is set back from the road a little bit and there is no sign on the road making it obvious where to turn in. Other than that, the hotel is a great place to stay with excellent access from the freeway

Room had used towels and waste clothes lying on the bed. There was only one towel in the bathroom. When I informed the reception, they did not send anybody to clean and even for the towels I had to get them on my own. We even found a spider in the room. The location of this hotel to the lagoon park and malls was very convenient

for the price it was great. you can see the sign from the freeway however on the street you will drive by as it sits back and no sign can be seen. good for animals dogs barked all night.

Comfortable and located close to various food places.

Stayed here twice now for business. Six months apart. One week each time. Nice hotel for the price. Easy to get to. Lots of restaurants around. Clean. Typical breakfast with waffles, cereal, etc.

The hotel is nice-just they have an exercise room where are 3 machines and 2 of them dont work. I would be satisfied, if they had at least a cardio machine which works and I could burn some calories while resting in that hotel. This was a clean nice hotel, the breakfast was good, great do it yourself waffles and the coffee was really fresh. I liked the location it was in between the places I needed to be. As a female traveling alone I felt safe.

I enjoyed my stay. It was nothing over the top, but it was comfortable. The only thing that really kind of bugged me was that I had to plug in all of the lamps when I got there. No big deal being that I got there during daylight hours... but had I not. It just kind of bugged me. Other than that... Everyone was quite friendly and eager to help.
