My wife and I stayed at the Granduca recently for our anniversary. All I can say is we didn't want to leave. Location is excellent, restaurants too numerous to mention nearby for every price range. Convenient to the galleria and directly across the street from Uptown Park. Amenities are on par with any in the city. Our two room suite was unbelievably […] spacious with each room being larger than a standard hotel room at similarly priced 4 star hotels in town and it had it own small terrace. The staff was extremely professional and accommodating. The ONLY complaint we have is an unfortunate lack of water pressure in the shower; insignificant in light of the quality of this property. This hotel advertises itself as four star or better, but is not better than 3 stars. Rooms are large, but decorating is dismal -- plastic plants in basket. Lodgenet did not work while we were there. Candy in containers sold in the room were melted together -- certainly not worth $6 they charged.

Everything was great, my only complain is that I requested since I made my reservation two beds, Expedia gave me that option, and when I got there they gave me one bed, and they told me that they didn't have any two beds in that category so I had to pay extra money to have two beds.

Great location. Can walk about 500 yds to about 6 different top notch places to eat and drink. Room was a suite and very well furnished. Ask for a pool view. This hotel is all about service. We love EVERYTHING about this hotel. The pool is beautiful. The decor is classy. The beds are comfy. The food is excellent. Room service is always on time and pleasant. We will be staying here many more times in the future.

Beautiful, remote but centrally located. Superb service. Mercedes chauffeured within 3 miles and everything you want is within 3 miles. Clean, spacious, very comfortable rooms. Huge closet and bathroom. Will definitely return.

I spent 3 nights at the Granduca in an executive junior suite which was spacious. The room was very clean, the beds very comfy, and the entire staff very gracious! I loved being across the street from the Uptown Shopping Plaza. I usually stay at the St. Regis in Houston, but this is far better.

Beautiful and spacious room and bathroom! Friendly and helpful staff as well. The only blotches marring an otherwise perfect hotel are that the water was overly softened, our shower head was leaky/broken, and the room was not soundproofed as well as it should have been. The shower experience was disappointing and left us soapy. We could hear traffic […] noise and an upstairs neighbor walking around in high heels very plainly. Luckily, the hotel clientele are generally not loud, carousing, or party until dawn types, so this didn't interfere with our sleep. I experienced slow service at this hotel at the during my lunch order. My room was not ready upon arrival. It took a long time to get drinks at the bar... In addition to deciding to stay and extra night. I had lunch the next day in my room, I was served and charged for 3 bottles of mineral water in which I didn't order. I was assured it would be taken […] off my bill. It wasn't! The food made me ill that evening, and had to stay in at the Hotel, due to sickness. I was informed by the Hotel Staff that my booking agent would be notified, and they where not! When my agent called the Hotel to confirm the addtional stay. They where told that the arrangements was through the Hotel. I was informed by the Hotel that is was verified through my booking agent, another deception! Overall, the service was slow, and the staff out and out lied to me about my room service bill and the additional night stayed. You really felt like you were somewhere else! From the quaint European-like bar, to the lavish rooms. Everyone who works at the hotel is so friendly, and accommodating, taking care of every detail. We enjoyed our stay, and were able to walk over to Uptown Park for shopping and eating. Will definitely stay here again.

Without question the Hotel Granduca has the nicest hotel rooms in all of Houston. Their traditional suite is very well appointed, although the "black-out curtains" could use some work. It's as though these people just graduated from hotel school and have no experience at a 5 star hotel. The delay at checking in was unacceptable and completely pointless.
