Ok basic airport hotel. When we booked this hotel it was the cheapest Stansted hotel even if we take into account that you have to pay for the shuttle bus (too far to walk from the airport). Hotel rooms were clean and ok. Hotel has bar/restaurant which is not very good but you don't have many options in the neighbourhood. Comfortable bed, but the room facilities were poor. No iron or board, old style box tv with poor reception, and dirty telephone. Three calls to reception went unanswered, eventually I just walked down there. The burger & chips I ordered was poor. The burger was not hand made, and appeared to be re-heated from frozen. If a hotel nominates itself to an airport hotel it should be a) in walking distance from the airport or b) complimentary shuttle bus service organised. It is outrageous that Holiday Inn Express Standsted airport hotel charges £2 (Apr-12) single fare in their shuttle bus. Great Hotel in a good position near the Airport. Coffee and Tea in the Room. Shuttle runs all day every half an hour and is only £3 each way. MacDonalds right next to the Hotel for the Kids as is Starbucks. Bar Area warm and friendly with a good atmosphere. food and Drink not too expensive. Breakfast always adequate at HiEx. Good Value for money and close to the airport. If there are two or more it's worth booking a taxi for a specific time the night before. good hotel for money , room i stayed in 318 was good although air conditionning was tricky to use ,toilet could have used a bit of a spring clean free breakfast was fairly good too. overall the hotel was great for a short stay.shuttle bus drivers were very helpful to all passengers and should be praised by their managers credit to there company

this hotel is ideal for a one night stay, it's situated very close to the airport, if it wasn't for the snow we would've walked there from the airport...2 pounds for hardly a five minute journey is just too much. i'm of that opinion that this type of servicies should be free. apart from that he hotel was good. the room was fine, the windows can't open […] but you can regulate the temperature in the room yourself, but the heating only works while you are inside the room (you have to put the door card in a special slot next to the door to make the electricity work) the bathroom was pretty cold but the bed was very comfortable, it was like a trampoline. the breakfast was very good, eggs, sausages, beans, toasts, croassants, yogurs, cereals, fruit, a variety of teas and coffees. our plane wasn't due till the evening so we stayed waiting in the lobby of the hotel where there were comfortable couches and chairs, a much better place to wait than the airport. there were also many rabbits around the hotel and nearby is a mcdonald's and a gas station where you can buy food, water and beer. i have also stayed in the hilton by the airport once buy apart from the breakfast, i think that overall the holiday inn is much better, the stuff is friendlier, the bed is more comfortable and common room is much more cosy. Pleasant hotel, quiet, everything you need after a long journey. Excellent complimentary breakfast. staff very polite and cheery, therefore, impression is of excellent staff management and training.

very convinient overnight stay for us,after coming in to stansted airport.wonderfully comfortable bed.quiet,clean and well cared for hotel.would definatly stay again,and recommend to others.the only small complaint was breakfast,id say get there for an early one,or dont expect a hot tasy one!

Operating with desk wasn't the best but thanks for one person situation was saved.

More shabby than other Hoilday inn express - looks less new and less updated. The facilities look a bit old, and the rooms are less than normal HI express standard. However, it is an airport hotel, so you can't expect too much - there is a lot of guests traffic in these hotels. So, in general I would give this hotel: OK - not more not less.

Thumbs up for the holiday inn stansted. Great location, shuttle bus to/from airport every 30 min for 2£, a taxi would cost £8. Hotel is 1 mile from terminal. Great confort. Excellent standard. Hotel has bar an restaurant, service area with fast food at walking distance.

Does what it says on the tin. The shuttle bus makes it very convenient for the airport. The hotel is in very good condition and the rooms were spotless. Ideal for anyone that needs to stay close to the airport

Handy hotel for early morning flights at Stansted. Good value for money. Communal areas are clean and well kept.

We have stayed at the HIExpress several times at Luton Airport (no real choice the Ibis there is dreadful) and for a cheap and cheerful hotel it is ok. The standard and service of he hotel waswat was expected of sc hotel. The neig mius was at th bathroom in my room had a heavy and, fr me, sckning sell of smoking. This was not just that someone recently had been smokin in the room, rather that it often had been used for smoking. very sub standard room. toilet smells. morning breakfast just ordinary. location to airport is its greatest advantage. Would never go there again.

On arrival at the airport, there is a bus to the holiday inn, costing £2 per person per single trip. A taxi should cost no more than £6 one way, so if there are 3 or more passengers share a taxi rather than wait half an hour for the bus!! Hotel itself is 5mins drive away, we arrived at 8.30pm and were in room 101...right next to the reception/bar area […] and next to the lifts. However, either it was well sound-proofed or we were so tired that we barely heard a noise in what I would have expected to have been the noisiest room in the whole place. The Holiday Inn was fine for a stop over to catch an early morning flight. I was annoyed that you couldnt book an early morning call - you had an option to program it into the room phone but I didnt feel confident that this would work. This hotel is perfect for the early morning flights from Stansted airport. The price was right, the staff was friendly and helpful and the shuttle to and from the airport is a plus. It would have been better if included in the price of the room but the 2 pound charge each way is affordable.

This is a very nice hotel great value for money and near to the airport. Staff all very helpful and the hot breakfast was very nice!!

We stayed here back in May and our room was perfectly finished. 3 months later, in a different room, the bathroom looked a bit tired, in need of a bit more of a clean and some fittings were loose. Otherwise, the room itself was great, a comfortable nights sleep before our early flight.

This is really handy for Stansted Airport and is about 5 minutes drive away. Great hotel with pleasant and comfortable rooms. Only downside is that the courtesy bus service from the airport stops at around 1 am and we then had to wait for an hour for a taxi.
