Best Western Winder Hotel - Winder

Nice hotel, quiet, comfortable, good breakfast, fun drive (about 20 min.) to Road Atlanta along winding country roads.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the Winder, Georgia, Best Western. The room was clean and comfortable and in a convenient location. The only complaint I had was no elevator. I haven't run into too many two story hotels that don't have an elevator, and that proved to be a little inconvenient.

I was put in a room with a jacuzzi tub even though I didn't book that kind of room. There wasn't a shower, just the tub. This hotel is two story, but doesn't have an elevator. It is right beside the train tracks also. Overall the room was clean.

We had two adults staying in our room. The room was very small. We reserved a room with the spa bathtub and it did not have a regular shower which was disappointing. There was only a hand held sprayer and no shower curtain. The toilet ran. The complimentary toiletries was one bottle of shampoo. We were given only two bath towels. We went to the desk […] the first night and ask for two extra towels and the next day when they cleaned they left us only two towels again. With a note to the cleaning staff the following day, we were left 4 towels. For us the location was perfect and for that reason alone we would stay there again as the hotel was clean. Having had a bad experience with a smaller hotel in Athens, I was apprehensive about staying in a small town hotel but, the Best Western was a pleasant surprise! The managers were extremely polite, cheerful and helpful. The room was neat and clean, and the hotel felt safe. I would definitely stay at Best Western again and recommend it to my friends […] ! We arrived at the Best Western in Winder, it was one of only two hotels that we knew of in the town. The other one did not seem as secure , and we had heard that there was a prison nearby so we wanted added security, which the BW had, only one entry. That was the best feature. We were in Winder to welcome our new grandbaby/greatnephew. They live nearby […] and so the proximity of the hotel to their residence was good. That was the only good report about this place. First, the railroad was outside the property. It was loud, and disturbing, this was minor by comparison to the condition of our room. We arrived, and there was a very distinct cigarrette smell, in our non smoking room, upon a closer look we discovered cigarette burns in our bedspread, and the bed had dirty linens, with staining. We showed this to the front desk clerk along with a request for towels, as there were not sufficient ones in our room, and also we were in need of shampoo. The shampoo came in a tiny, tiny vial. We know we are in a recession but the shampoo that was in ther room was not enough to even begin to shampoo the hair of one guest. They did give us another vial, and some more towels. But when we saw the cigarrette burns, we requested another room. They did comply with our request. No apology. I did take photos. The room was also dirty, and not dusted. There was dust on all the bureau , which also had drawers in disrepair. They appeared to be falling out. We got the impression that the manager was very "thrifty" and that his or her budget was more important than the comfort level and cleanliness of the guest rooms. The breakfast that was offered was scanty and as was needed toast and bagels were placed out for the guests if they requested it. There was no juice, but kindly the front desk person, attempted to dilute some concentrate that he found,(he did not know how to place it into the machine for beverages, and even tried to call Coke in Atlanta to see if they could assist............there w További részletek

The bed was extremely hard, not the least bit comfortable. The refrigerator in the room rattled. There was mold/mildew on the upper edges of the shower. I would not stay here again.

Would recommend for the money and location.

everything was fine. Nothing special, but it was clean, comfortable and a good location for where we were going. There is a train nearby, and I did hear it, but it was nowhere near loud enough to wake us up at night and I'm a light sleeper.

The room smelled like smoke and it was supposed to be non smoking. The breakfast bar was pretty bad. You get what you pay for.
