The location is FANTASTIC! Walk to everything Berkeley. The room was comfortable. It was obvious that the room had been thoughtfully renovated. Not the standard issue motel look at all. I particularly appreciated that there was no heinous hotel art on the walls. Very, very convenient. Price was right.

I called ahead of time to confirm my arrival and told them I would be arriving past the check in time. When I got there, I had awaken the front desk clerk from their sleep and he seemed upset. I spent 5 nights at this very clean and very comfortable Super 8 while visiting UC-Berkeley. It is about a 20 minute walk to campus and just a few blocks from the North Berkeley BART station.

Everything was Great

THEY SAID THAT THE HOTEL SERVED BREAKFAST WELL THERE WAS NOTHING TO EAT AT ALL.

This hotel was a good value for the money. It was conveniently located to Shattuck and the UC campus. The staff was friendly and very helpful and accomodating. The only real complaint I have about this motel is its location. It is situated in the less-flourishing part of Berkeley and is not convenient if you are looking to walk to the Telegraph Avenue section of Berkeley. The rooms, however, were very nice and for the amount spent, I would recommend it.

Can't wait to go back and stay at the Super 8 becasue the price was good and the stay was great.

Upon arrival the front desk clerk was smiling and greeted us with excellent service. WE are so happy to have found a good spot to stay when we cometo visit our son.

Courtesy desk was very unwelcoming, with the owner in very bad mood. called desk, due to heater in the room not working, was given portable heater for the night.

the room was clean, and the hotel was close to restaurants and other sites we wanted to visit. Internet access was convenient. The only drawback was our room was near the stairs, so we could hear people going up and down at night.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel. The room was clean and neat though there was a long black hair on one of our new towels. The bathroom was lovely with new-looking tiling. We had asked for double beds but was surprised when the room had 2 additional beds in one room and a single double in the other room, the rooms were clean and neat and well furnished. The only downside was that you could hear people talking into the night downstairs or in the office as we were at the last room at the head of the stairs by the office. […] You could also hear people going to the bathroom and flushing the toliet, walls are too thin and would not stay again just because of this fact. The bed was terrible, only one blanket small so I freeze all night. People steps going in and out all time so windows were not the quality needed for noise protection. Then in the morning the cleaning people started their work and talking on front of my door, the cleaning staff was right by my door. They should not rent this room knowing how terrible […] is. Nice clean hotel, near marina and easy access to the adjacent cities and landmarks.

You get what you pay for. That's all I have to say. Stay here only if you're on a tight budget.

The Super 8 Berkeley is a great deal for accommodations in the Bay Area with some qualifications. I travel frequently for business and as a lone traveler the Super 8 is great, rooms are small, clean, and fairly quiet with free wifi, a mini-fridge, microwave, and cable tv. The room is ok, but I was offened by their unprofessional, arrogant service. The office is locked all the time and I've never seen that kinds of hotel office (a high front desk and little room for guests) The staff treated me almost like a intruder (didn't want to step inside) They should learn how to treat customers. They are arrogant!

Now a warm and fuzzy welcome and in a sort of so / so neighborhood but close to everything in Berkeley and the the freeway access is good. The room was small but well appointed with flat panel TV, good wireless internet and fully updated bath. I would stay again for the price.

but won't stay there again. Smell of curry very heavy in lobby; it even seemed the sheets and coverlet smiled of curry. It was okay.

I stayed on a Sat night and the neighborhood is active there. But, the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. I couldn't expect more for a place at the last minute and knowing the area, it books up ahead of time.

The manager was delightful and courteous and took care of a plumbing problem with professionalism. The location is great... restaurants abound.

i am blown away from outside okay dont judge a book by its cover, but from inside its like heaven. newly renovated rooms andverynice staff. what else can you ask for for the orice you pay. every is entitled to their opinions, but its fair what you get for what you pay. some guest expect too much for whatthey pay.

the hotel location is ok and the price is ok. but the service is really very poor (never before saw such poor service), the surrounding neighborhood is not good and the locked office in the daytime is an indicator. the room looks clean but has a strange smell that makes uncomfort.

Don't be mislead by the rather average looking exterior. The rooms here were recently renovated and are very high quality. You can expect all of the amenities, which include an LCD flatscreen, coffee maker, and fridge. The location is relatively close to downtown Shattuck and the UC Berkeley campus. Overall, a great place to stay at.

it was a nice place to stay good price and no complaints. i read the reviews and they were positive and the expereince was positive as well. its a newly renovated place and good service.

we had a good stay the review speak for itself. they even gave us a workout pass for the gym. breakfast is good. the service is good. the motel is way better inside than outside. to each is own im sure everyone wont agree but its reasonable. you get what you pay for simple is that.
