Holiday Inn London-Bloomsbury Hotel - London

Agreeable large hotel, convenient to various forms of public transportation. But OUTRAGEOUS charges for telephone usage -- several pounds per MINUTE to many destinations, plus one pound to just pick up the phone each time, and apparently incoming charges as well. INCOMING calls from France were BLOCKED. Unconscionable in today's world!!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday-Inn Bloomsbury. It is conveniently located to the subway (Russell Square) and is a 30 minutes walk to Piccadilly Circus. Hotel staff were friendly and professional. Only detraction to my stay was having to pay for wi-fi and television. I would stay in this hotel again.

Nice hotel, sufficient room size. Good location close to the Underground station and British Museum. 15 minutes walk to Covent Garden. Some local services around.

I really liked this hotel, but did not like that wi-fi was expensive. Also, you had to purchase the use of the television. It is situation on a quiet street just of Russell Square. Very efficient and helpful staff. Quiet room; very comfortable, and spotless. Very convenient location; short walk from St.Pancras station. I would definitely recommend.

The staff was very nice and made everything go smoothly. The room was a little small (for american standards) but overall a very nice stay.

We were very pleased with the hotel - was clean, very near to the tube station and very convenient for amenities. We would definately stay again!!

I thought the hotel was in a great location very close to russell square tube which is the piccadilly line direct from heathrow airport in 50 min. You can order whatever pillows you like. The beds were very comfortable. No 7 bus to oxford street in 7min and No 59 to covent garden in 6min from around the corner. Restaurant in hotel looked lovely but we did not eat there irish pub next door. Overall a great hotel and would recommend it. there were building works on Saturday morning that started at 8am. Pneumatic drill noises. Called reception who were very apologetic but construction work is allowed to start at that time. Having said that we had a lovely stay at the hotel and would definitely stay there again. Service and comfort good . Quite busy though and as it was Christmas, very noisy. It was party time!

There wasn't anything wrong with the hotel itself, but the staff wasn't very friendly and the supposed concierge was really short on useful information. The Holiday Inn Regents Park a bit to the west is a much friendlier hotel if you can stay there.

Great reasonably priced hotel in central london. Big price hike if not booked in advance, able to take advance of special offer upgrade

Great location only a 5min walk to Russell Square Station and 10min to the British Museum. Other positives: on the picadilly line making it very convienent to travel by train, opposite brunswick shopping centre, clean and modern. Negatives: tiny bathroom and no free wifi.

The room provided was well organized complete with a good sized bathroom with bath. On the down side it was a bit stuffy, would have preferred a facility to slide open a window. The breakfast was abundant and well organized.

For a 4 star hotel by Holiday Inn, this was disappointing. Small room, tiny bathroom. Overlooking a bleak inner square of a lower roof. Really not worth the money. Breakfast staff slow and appeared fed up (waited 10 minutes for coffee and only after asking for it). The hotel looks good in the reception, but it is just a facade.

Comfortable room, good location, clean and quiet

I have stayed at the hotel many times over the past 10 years, although not in the past 18 months. I was disappointed in the several problems that I encountered after checking in. - the radiator in my room didn't work and there was no heat. The staff was terrific and brought me a portable radiator. - but I had problems letting them know about the problem […] because the telephone in the room didn't work. I couldn't contact the front desk, housekeeping or room service from my room. The phone was never fixed during the four nights I stayed there. - most irritating change was that the hotel now uses a 0870 number for all incoming calls, at 10d/minute. So, any calls made to the hotel by colleagues or friends cost the caller. This is an irritating cash grab (right before the Olympics) and something I have never seen at any other hotel. The staff here are friendly and as helpful as they can be. But the problems I found seem to reflect management decisions over which staff have no control. I won't come back. További részletek

The Holiday Inn was very close to the Russell Square Tube station and to its namesake square. A short walk to the British Museum and even closer to both small 24-hour groceries as well as a large grocery store and restaurants, the hotel was off the major roads and quiet. Even when the A/C broke, the night manager was very solicitous and had us sleep in another nearby room while keeping our belongings in the original room. I spent a delightful weekend here before some business meetings later in the week. I liked that the hotel was not in the middle of a sterile tourist/government zone, but rather a very clean and friendly real London neighborhood, full of restaurants and next to an Underground station. We used this hotel as a base for a weekend in london. It was ideally located a short walk from Euston Station and only a 30-40 min walk to camden market. There is a great shopping and eating area right next door with all your favourite eating places and coffee shops. Ideal for a wind down at the end of a day.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The quality of our room was outstanding, and the nice selection of restaurants nearby made this an excellent choice for our 6 day stay in London.

Room servicing was not as expected, had to complain to reception that my room had not been serviced. My Sons bathroom had scrunched up toilet tissue stuffed into the empty tissue box! deffinitely not expected from Holiday Inns. On a Sunday evening neither Room service or the hotel bar could serve me with a Brandy.

This hotel is a 5 minute walk from euston train station, down a quiet road. the hotel was clean and quiet and the hotel staff were really nice and the beds and pillows were really comfy. the only thing i would say is don't eat or drink in the hotel way tooo expensive when you have loads of restaurants just over the road.... straight outside the hotel […] to your right is a shopping complex with restaurants , a boots chemist, a waitrose ,river island etc......brilliant..... the london bus sightseeing tours are a 5 min walk up the road from the hotel which was handy. the british museum is a five to ten minute walk from hotel, then just jump a bus or carry on walking into leicester square, i will defo be staying at this hotel again...... Restaurant food was excellent, all around comfortable, very clean.

I would have given this 5* but for the silly policy of the hotel on Breakfast. You must request to having breakfast on the day of arrival or face a very expensive option if you just turn up on a daily basis.

This hotel was very convenient off of the Tube stop Russell Square. So if you are one to use the Tube this hotel is right off the Piccadilly Line, royal blue line, that is directly from Heathrow Airport. Once you find the Tube at the airport you take it several stops to the hotel. It is only a block from the Tube. The concierge was very helpful! He […] made a few phone call for us. The neighborhood was quite safe, had nice restaurants, grocery and bank. The room was very clean, nice furniture. I would definitely stay at this hotel again! This was a wonderful hotel. Convenient to the tube, although not to any other restaurants. The area was quiet and peaceful, so no sirens or road noise to affect the ability to sleep. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very clean.

Hotel was clean, comfortable and good price for us. Location in Bloomsbury was great, just 2 mins walk to Russell street Tube. Staff were very pleasant. Would recommend to anyone who just wants a clean comfortable bed when sight-seeing in London.

Would not recommend. Advertised as providing fridges in all rooms. Was not one in any rooms normal rooms as hotel was removing them. No free Wifi as advertised. No robes as advertised. When we called for robes, they brought ones with big holes in them! Called the hotel manager re these deficiencies twice and he did not ever call us back during our week […] long stay. great hotel and grat location. small rooms but very clean! very close to the underground station. there is a center across the street with supermarker, cafes, resturants and stores. i will come back to this hotel every time i will arrive to London.

The Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury was in an excellent location (about 1/2 block from the Russell Square underground train station). There is also a shopping center across the street with shops, a movie theatre, and a few eateries. The rooms were clean. A little small as was expected with any hotel room in London. Located close to the underground this hotel is also in the area of the University. There is a small outdoor mall next door that has some shops a grocery store and cafes and casual restaurants. Our concierge Gary was very helpful and took care of all our needs. The hotel has a modern clean looking decor, the rooms were clean with a good selection of […] pillows my only complaint was that the duvet was heavy. Housekeeping was quick to accommodate all our special requests ie. bathrobes, extra towels, ironing board. The room keys were not reliable and the desk staff tried to make out this was my fault. There were excess phone charges. The staff insisted the charges were just even though the phone did not work. There was no call for the argumentative stance of the desk staff.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Staff are very friendly, rooms are comfortable not luxurious but wouldn't expect that for the price. Nice little shopping centre close by and 5mins to Russell Square tube station. If you go by car there is a big car park under the hotel. It's a new hotel in a busy area. The price was right.

AWFUL HOTEL. Checked out 3 days early, and they refused to give me a refund. My room was the noisiest in the building. By the street front 2nd floor. It felt like cars were passing through the room and constant banging. Air conditioner didn't work. Would not recommend this hotel... give it a miss.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with my sister. After getting to the room i discovered that the "twin room" was a bed and a fold out cot! I immediately rang the front desk to ask for a change of room to a twin room. I was told there was none available and essentially i would just have to make do with the cot which was very very uncomfortable. […]  I just feel if you pay for a twin room you should get one - if it was anything else we wouldn't accept it so why should we with hotel rooms. The hotel also says it offers all these services such a different types of pillows and toothbrushes etc when you forget them, however when i rang to ask for a toothbrush to be sent up i was told i wouldn't be waiting an hour - lik e i wanted to waste my morning waiting for a toothbrush. Also the local tube state russel square while very close is always packed in the morning as you have to que for quite a long time to actually get a ticket.
