This is a nice hotel to stay at close to the Sandton Gautrain and the shopping and business centers, however after coming from two smaller chain hotels in other parts of South Africa I found the staff service here very cold and big chain like, meaning we are just another number to them nothing more. They did not tell about a construction site. They had no room with less noise. They then promised there is no work on Saturdays. Wrong. Later they didn't even apologize appropriate.

Had a great stay - the hotel is good value for money and close to the Gautrain and Sandton. The restaurant is superb - we had one of our best dinners in SA in the hotel. The menu is different to the typical Gauteng menu - lots of variety and well presented. If you stay there try the restaurant as you will not be disappointed!!

The hotel is very popular with business travelers due to its proximity to the Gautrain Station, Sandton City and the business district. Its decor is a little bit dated and at bust times, service is slow. Also, as a lone traveler, often eating out is not a great option. The in-room dining menu is so limited that it is not worth the effort.

I particularly appreciated that this hotel is just two minutes walk from the Gautrain station that connects directly to the airport, with a very rapid, inexpensive and safe train. The hotel is also within five minutes walk from the Nelson Mandela Plaza that is a perfect place for dinner.

The hotel is absolutely exquisite. The staff is ultra professional and pleasant. It is conveniently located across the street from the Gautrain rail, which is only a 15 minute, much less expensive option than a 45 minute car ride. They host lots of business clients, have a well thought out overall design to the entire hotel including the workout room, and they are eco friendly with card key holders that turn out the lights when you leave your room. However, the pool is used more for viewing and having pool side business chats than swimming. This was an unexpected disappointment. Another downside is if you are looking for a complete escape from work lounging in the beautifully appointed lounge areas, which are plentiful, is probably not what you want to do. Given that the clientele is decidedly business focused you will be surrounded with "company" chat within earshot. The reviews and pictures on the hotel's website are accurate. It is a lovely designed hotel with modern ammenities and a wonderful staff. It is conviently located across the street from the Gautrain which can take you to the airport, Pretoria, Rosebank mall, etc. It is also very a very short walk away from Mandela Square. Very close to the Gautrain Station and to the Mandela Square. On Rivonia Road, which is practical to drive towards any destination in Johannesburg or Pretoria. Very efficient service, excellent comfort.
