I was pleasantly surprised to find these accommodations at such a good price in early May. The cabin was very well kept, well furnished, and comfortable. The temperature control system was new and worked well. The location was the perfect balance of secluded yet accessible for a weekend getaway.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place. If you like being out in the woods surrounded by beautiful views of mountains and water, this is the place for you. We had our own cute little cabin. It was nice to have a little kitchenette because we did have a cooler full of food, a kitchen table, and a little sitting area with cozy leather chairs and […] a TV. It was very quiet which we loved. We didn't have time to check out the amenities, but there is bowling and a fitness center on site. The cafe is really good too! The security guard was able to check us in at 9pm at night. The hiking trails on the resort (also an auto trail if you don't like walking) lead to stunning views at the top of the mountain. Just a heads up for those who would like a nice getaway, Point Lookout is Not!!!! I repeat Not!!!! a hotel it is a campsite with other amenities if you are looking for a romantic getaway although nice this is not what it was describes to be on the site it was rated as a 3.5 star hotel which is not what it is. I would highly recommend staying at Point Lookout. Great cabin in the woods - we had a 2bd/2 bath with kitchen and gas fireplace. Cozy and comfortable. (BUT) A couple things not so good. 1. Fantastic stay!!! Grounds are beautiful!!! Was a surprise that check in closed at 6pm on a Sunday in the off season. Hours of check in would have been good to know. Overall this was an incredible experience and we look forward to going back!

While the cabin we actually stayed in was nice the bathroom in the cabin was a little odd. It had the strangest shower--no place to put soap or shampoo while showering and the water pressure was terrible. It also had a handicapped seat in the shower but that was odd because we never could figure how a handicapped person could even get into the cabin. The […] staff was cool, but polite. The cabin's proximity to the next was a little close if only because the occupant's dog was very vocal. Also, the cabins weren't numbered well enough to see the numbers in the night so at midnight we had a stranger pounding on our door because they thought we were cabin 1, we were number 2. We booked a two bedroom cabin originally. When we arrived, and went to shower, there was a bad sulfur smell coming from the water. We told the front desk, and the sent someone up to check it out. Good location just 10 miles south of Belfast and about the same north of Camden. Individual pine cottages offer seclusion and comfort - don't expect ocean views as you're in the mountains. Quite, peaceful, restful, private cabin in a wilderness setting. Couldn't have been more cozy, clean, and lovely.

We enjoyed our one night at Point Lookout on our drive up the Maine coast. A few things that should be noted though: checkout time is 10am!, we were there in July and the restaurant wasn't open for dinner, lots of flying insects on the trails so bring bug spray.

The resort is beautiful, however there were some things that made it inconvenient enough to stay somewhere else next time. Our visit was Monday through Thursday. Their on site cafe doesn't open until Thursday and there are hardly any places to get breakfast. The bowling alley wasn't open either. There is no pool and no convenient place to get ice. The hotel grounds are nice. It is very outdoorsy and would be a great place for a group of people to stay together. As far as the area, it seemed to be one of the better places to stay in this area of Maine. The front desk workers were not very helpful with information about the resort, other than a map.

Off the beaten path but close to the highway. Great for families. Food close by but not on the property. There is a kitchen with a fridge which is nice if staying awhile. Clean and comfortable.

We really like the overall resort/conference center. Problem none of the restaurants or cafes were open until Thursday when we left. It would have been nice to catch a coffee in the morning in the resort. Otherwise, we were very pleased. Housekeeping wasn't perfect, but nothing terrible.

We stayed at Point Lookout while on a family trip and touring coastal points along Route 1. There is a bowling alley on site but it was not open for us during our stay - would have been a big plus if it had been - I recommend calling and making sure of its hours if you have interest. There are not very many ‘usual’ family fair type restaurants nearby […] either. The Café onsite was also not opened during our weekday stay. The resort grounds were impeccably manicured and quaint. There were a lot of common grounds which boasted areas for those looking for quiet all the way to those looking for a ruckus family game. We did not take advantage of the numerous walking trails but there are many. The sights all throughout the grounds were excellent. The cabin itself was nice, clean and quaint. I would have liked to have seen a more well equipped or spacious bathroom but that opinion would not keep us from staying again. Good luck to you and I think you’ll enjoy your stay if you book here. This has the total package if you want to experience coastal Maine. You feel like you are out in the wilderness and the log cabins are very nice. Nice hiking trails, great breakfast and over all very good service. Still close to Camden and other nice coastal towns. Very nice!

I would recommend this location. The only drawback I noticed was that the tv did not have a dvd player as promised. There was a vcr tape player, but I brought dvds to watch.
