Not Worth the Hype or the Price
I recently stayed at the Hilton Rose Hall in Jamaica and, overall, the experience didn’t meet my expectations. While the food was surprisingly good, other aspects of the stay were disappointing. The check-in process was slow and lacked the welcoming atmosphere I had hoped for, and staff interactions felt impersonal.
The beach wasn’t well maintained and had a lot of seaweed, which took away from the usual Caribbean charm. The coffee shop was also kept uncomfortably cold, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the space.
Some of the resort amenities and items felt overpriced, and the wait times at on-site restaurants were consistently long. It was frustrating to wait that much during a vacation.
The music volume during meals was also noticeably high, which made it difficult to enjoy a quiet dinner.
We also ran into a reservation issue, having accidentally booked for one adult instead of two. While we reached out to the booking site right away, the process to correct it was unhelpful and resulted in additional charges. It was especially frustrating given that this was meant to be a special occasion for us. In the future, we’ll likely book directly with hotels to avoid issues like this.
