You get what you pay for ... or do you?
I'll admit that I usually stay at higher-end hotels, but this is one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had in terms of the room itself. While it looked like they'd attempted to make some improvements at some point in time, the improvements were unfinished, and many things were broken, missing, or coming apart. Even the paint on the wall had shoddy areas where the paint wasn't painted right. The draft and noise coming from the window sounded like the window was open the entire time because it hadn't been sealed properly. In the bathroom, the hooks for the towels had come off and was missing. The tub wouldn't drain which made the shower really slippery. The mattress on the bed was hard and uncomfortable. I had things in my room that my daughter didn't have in hers and vice versa. The first morning we went down to breakfast, and it was so bad, we ate out the remainder of our stay. The eggs tasted like they came from a powdered mix, and there wasn't even typical things you see at a hotel breakfast like yogurt, hardboiled eggs, fruit, etc. There was no milk for the cereal, and there was a sign on the wall that said food couldn't be taken from the room which is totally ridiculous. I'll never stay at a La Quinta or a Wyndham again.
