The motel appears to cater to a clientele that may be intoxicated.
Upon check-in, I was told the sauna was operational, but both saunas were out of order. Additionally, a guest (?) was smoking in one of them.
The pool area lacked a lock, and there was someone washing shoes in the hot tub.
When I asked for a wine opener, the front desk staff initially searched a single drawer in front of them then declined, though I later found a wine key in the room. The room seemed inadequately cleaned, and there were signs it had not been properly prepared for new guests.
At check-in (around 9 PM), I discovered that I had several emails from the hotel advising they had tried to charge me and were not able to. This was accompanied by a questionnaire from hotels.com asking about check in. We were the only paying guests in the entire hotel if the pigeons living on draining deck chairs of the ocean-facing balconies.
The indoor pool area had wet chairs and water damage from the ceiling. When I contacted customer service, I was directed to hotels.com sites without resolution.
There was also confusion about cleaning services; the check-in flyer stated cleaning is upon request but was surprised by the attempt at maid service. Wanted it next day but no follow-up occurred.
On a positive note, the woman working the morning shift was professional, and the bed itself was satisfactory.
