My two-week stay at Blue Sweets Hotel in Colombia was extremely disappointing. Despite my VIP platinum upgrade, I was placed on the ground floor with no acknowledgment of my status and was pressured to buy unnecessary tourist insurance. I witnessed preferential treatment for local guests while dealing with incessant noise from thin walls, including neighbors’ intimate encounters and loud music resembling a concert at six-thirty in the morning. To add to the discomfort, I found cockroaches in my room each night. The on-site Mediterranean restaurant had a confusing menu with no authentic Mediterranean dishes, only offering inconsistent options like Italian food, burgers, and fries. Though the staff were kind and the views were beautiful, the difficulty of accessing the nearby mall—requiring steep walks or taxis—only compounded my dissatisfaction. If you’re seeking a peaceful retreat, this hotel is not the place, as my hopes for a restful stay were replaced with a regrettable experience that made me feel ripped off.
