8/10 Very good

I have stayed at Amaru Colonial a few times in the past. I love this beautiful hotel. It has lovely gardens and the rooms have lots of character. There are many choices for breakfast. The staff are amazing and willing to help out how ever they can. It is close to some really great restaurants. The only challenge is walking down the hill. As a Canadian, we are definitely not used to the narrow roads and watching to make sure your purse strap doesn't get caught on a car mirror as the cars drive past. It just takes a little getting used to. But saying that, I keep going back! Also discovered they have a sister hotel in Urubamba called Amaru Valle. We stayed there also and loved it. It is the same style hotel (but not on a hill )

Overall, this is a decent value for the money if you are not particular with your accommodations. Breakfast is very decent too.

Very nice property, close to everything but just on the periphery so quiet and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great and they packed a take-away breakfast bag since we left for our trek at 4AM.

We loved it so much we kept coming back throughout our whole stay in Cusco! Great rooms, breakfast, friendly staff and an endless supply of filtered water and coca tea! Would stay here again without question. Close to the town square and restaurants.

A beautifully maintained property in a nice area. Just under a 10 minute walk to the plaza de armas. The staff are very lovely and helpful.

GREAT place - close to town, heating, free tea
One of the places I stayed in Peru - the only one with heating in the rooms, nice colonial style, breakfast was pretty good (also one of the only ones with avocado for breakfast for ex), the only one I stayed with free coca tea, tea or filtered water for any guest (can save you some money!), super friendly staff! I’d stay there again any time I came back to Cusco! Too bad it was fully booked for the other days.

This hotel was perfect for a stay in Peru. The vibe was authentic to the locals with a nice little view. Very cute hotel. It was clean and the breakfast was good. It was convenient enough from plaza de armas and other little market areas. There is a 24/7 front desk attendant and the doors are always secure. I would recommend this hotel if staying in Cusco.

It is steep walking conditions but other than that amazing! All the water and tea you could want. Wonderful restaurant recommendations. Simply beautiful interior. Quaint and cozy. And I grabbed a book from the little library they have!
