Called to make sure we would be on the first floor because my husband has mobility problems. We were placed at the very back of a long hallway. There is no maid service even for extended stays until you check out. Breakfast had very limited selections. All doors except the front door were exit only. The furnishings were pretty worn out. The bathtub was very high to step into. Lighting in the bathroom was terrible. The parking lot was very rutted.
We booked this hotel in April to check in on July 3. When we arrived, a posted announcement was the first to inform us that the hotel had been closed by the health department on May 30. No one was at the motel to speak to, and hotels.com customer service was automated and completely useless.
We had to make a last minute search and booking for Independence Day weekend, that was more than twice the distance from our workplace and more expensive.
Now, we may have dodged a bullet (could have been bedbugs? Or black mold? Cockroaches?) but i really feel that the complete absence of customer service from both the Baymont by Windham St Charles and hotels.com was completely unacceptable.
The hotel was under construction, the outside of the property looked run down and unkept and our room had a mildew smell.
The only savings grace was the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
This hotel was not presented in the best light. Furniture was old and tattered. The breakfast was a lot of carbs. I went to breakfast all five days, and there was only mystery meat and sausage left on one of those days - no bacon.
The door peephole was broken and had toilet paper stuck in it. The tub floor was dirty and stained. Kleenex box had two tissues in it. There was a dark footprint on the sheet. Paint coming off the walls.
I have stayed there before was good
The window leaked a little and the lady at desk was willing to move me but said we already unpacked. So it was ok. Very pleasant help
Our first room had the bathroom light laying in the sink. Our second room had a major leak on the inside of the window the night it rained. Water was everywhere.
