Service at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana was outstanding! Breakfast and Lunch buffets were the best meals. Dinner restaurants could improve in taste. Food is pretty bland for international tastes. All public areas are impeccably kept. The rooms are in need of renovation, and they smelled of mold and mildew. The bathrooms do not have any air ventilation so the mildew smells simply invades the rest of the bedroom area. Perhaps, it's hard to maintain the rooms given the beach, swimming pools, and endless alcohol that is offered. However, for the high price, Hyatt needs to resolve the mildew smells in the rooms that spoiled the rest of our stay. The room snacks need to improve. Offering Pringles, inexpensive granola bars and m&m's seemed cheap. We never ate them, and they seemed leftover from the previous occupants. We did receive a welcome small cake and drink to celebrate a birthday which was a nice touch. Finally, the pools are clean and beautiful in contrast to the beach which has lots of seafood roots about to sprout which made it not nice for walking. There are lots of mosquitoes even though the hotel will tell you there aren't. All in all, we had a nice family mini break.
