The glamour of this place wears thin after a couple of days. Don’t get me wrong, the decor is great and the team did a great job with the refurb - super cool photos and great surrounds. However, the hotel is run by a restaurant chain and that shines through. They are still really trying to figure out how to do the whole hotel thing - things that seem small things like phones in rooms to contact reception, in room safes for valuables, even replacing toilet paper that had run out - and which we requested to be re-filled - were all forgotten. Our room didn’t even have soap in it when we arrived. The front desk staff acted as if requests are an inconvenience to them and often were just scrolling on their phones at the front desk, not bothering to look at the guest in front of them waiting for help. Other reviews which say guests are treated second to visitors off the street are true. There is no forethought here about guest experience which seems crazy when rooms cost ~$400/night. The restaurants at the hotel are great and service is great within them. It really is the hotel bit that this place fails at. It could be great. But it isn’t. I wouldn’t stay again but I would come for dinner or pay to use the pool.
