In general the stay was okay, however there was limited impact made by the 'cooling' and the windows wouldn't open. Staff wete friendly and the hotel is aesthetically pleasing, but not the best value for money. We wouldn't stay again.

A fantastic property with the grace and elegance one would expect in a heritage hotel. However, it could spruce up its act in regards to the wifi which was terrible and not throw up surprises like a 70 dollar bill for using the valet service on two occassions.

What hotels were and should be
In the real heart of the city, is a retreat in time, to when genuine care and attention to a traveler still exists. From the arrival, immediate access to the theatre district, and a breakfast to actually enjoy, it is truly sad to leave.

Convenient location
On the first day, Wednesday, there was no concierge or staff attending the entrance though they did the next two days. Reception staff were friendly and processed check-in and che k-out quickly and pleasantly. A bottle of wine was in our room upon arrival, a part of our gold reward. Evening staff checked out the noises in the Junior Suite emanating from other rooms (think it was airconditioning it was very noisy making sleep difficult) They suggested we speak with day staff and have maintenance che k out the problem. The heating in the room was cold so slept in the robes provided, along with wearing bed socks brought from home. Pillows were wonderful but body ached from the hard mattress. Limited choice of teas so bought own. Purchased coffees when we went out and at breakfast. Dining service staff were efficient and friendly. Food and drinks were delightful. Maintenance required - our room had plaster patch applied in lounge area but not painted. Wingback chairs in passage 2nd floor had leather peeling off the arms. A beautiful heritage building with very dedicated staff, some with considerable longevity as employees. Patrons treasure everything this establishment symbolises and memories from their young years are tied in with their loyalty to the brand.

Windsor experience
The Windsor is a place you stay for the ambiance Room service was delivered promptly by a friendly staff member Afternoon tea also a highlight, breakfast as well with attentive staff making sure patrons were well looked after. The only concern was Room needed someone to look up and get rid of the cobwebs on the pelmet and light and clean marks off around power outlet The Windsor has great history attached to the building. I would hope the high standards would continue into the future as this hotel is unique and needs to be preserved

Lovely property. Very old building which is charming at times but can also be impractical. Lovely staff.

A beautiful old building with a magnificent staircase. Check in was reasonable. I never like the blocking of $100 on my account incase we use the minibar or other. But then they tell you on check out they have cancelled it and it will take FIVE days for it to be released. So blocked immediately but blocked for five days. not good enough. Room service was a little slow to bring tea and milks

Property is an amazing old building. The hot water pressure and amount of hot water available at certain times is a major problem as we twice were not able to have a hot shower.

2/10 Poor

The Victorian Sweet room 306 was $640 per night and sadly was not as the advertised photographs. The carpet had more than a dozen fifty cent piece sized brown filthy marks. The beautiful large drawer desk in the add were missing, instead, a flat piece of timer with four wooden legs. The three couches were not matching as per the add. The stereo cabinet was broken with timber missing smashed out of it. Many of the room doors had their inner latches removed and unable to close doors. Many of the walls were marked. Tiles around the fire place were broken. The hotel is vintage and parts of it were beautiful but when the lovely brass light switch brackets were swapped out for white light switches it was dissatisfying. Be careful of the door of the single bed in room three had a sharp screw hanging out of it that I brushed then caught my leg on, ouch! There was a lot of other damages and it was sad to see it neglected with cost cutting repairs. I cannot recommend room 306 and am happy to upload photos onto support my review

The Hotel continues to shine with old world charm with spacious, comfortable rooms. It does lack dining options, with the food at The Cricketers Bar being very ordinary. I ordered a medium steak that came well done. It is also unacceptable to have no WIFI in 2024, especially when it is offered as being complimentary.

Property requires significant renovation, one of two lifts not working, plumbing issues, TV old and unable to connect to streaming even though it's offered, very outdated rooms - and not in a period way but in an early 90s fashion. Staff were generally lovely, even when moving us to another room at 9.30pm due to plumbing issues, food was acceptable but not a highlight and unfortunately the high tea, which the Windsor is known for, was very disappointing. The burger we ordered from room service was absolutely delicious.
