I loved staying at the NamKhan Ecolodge. Everything is new and the staff is amazing. The only real downside to staying at the hotel is that my room was air conditioned. I found that I didn't sleep well at night due to the lack of air conditioning. I really believed that I selected a room with air con, but I don't believe any of the rooms have it. I made this known to the staff and the said that they'd check to make sure the hotels.com ad details matched the reality of the rooms. They staff was also really open to constructive feedback because they are interested in making the visit great for guests.
I loved the yoga, but wished it was included in the cost of the stay. The same with the tubing. I think the value would be better if a few lower cost activities were included in the stay.
I liked the breakfast included and thought it was generous, but sometimes the items would be running out with an hour or more left in the breakfast time period. It seems like the items should be served differently to ensure that everyone gets all of the options available, not matter the time they come within the breakfast period.
The food at the restaurant was very good. It's pricier than in town, but still worth the money and cheaper than at home. I had amazing pad thai, fried spring rolls, and a buddha bowl. All were delicious and were portioned generously.
Had coronavirus not required me to go home at a moment's notice, I would have revisited Laos and the Ecolodge.
