Overall lovely experience
My mother and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in total and it was a lovely experience overall. What I loved about the most is the quality of its hospitality. The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and professional.
The one person we have to send special thanks to is the Guest Relations manager, Evelyn!!! She took care of us in such a professional manner from before we arrived in Vietnam. She was always online (I don't know when she is resting!), always quick in her responses, and always came back with answers we were looking for. I've worked as Executive Assistant for many years but I found the communication with her very easy. It was like having an experienced personal assistant and that was such a luxurious experience. Without her, our first trip to Hanoi could have been a lot more stressful and chaotic for sure.
The interior is really beautiful using real marble everywhere.
Some things that can be improved about the hotel -
There is no fan in the bathroom so unless you turn on the aircon (which made the room too cold for us) the room can get extremely humid and the whole floor gets wet. It also gets uncomfortable when you have to do the big business.
The location is really good to explore the local Hanoi culture and sightseeing spots but the chaos of the old town was a bit too intense for my 75 yo Japanese mom who is used to clean places. The food at Olive restaurant needs to be improved a lot and it's too expensive for Hanoi.
