Could do better…
We were rather disappointed with the tiredness of the room (5th floor); long overdue an up-grade, stuck in the 80s.Room very basic, e.g. 1 chair in a twin room, no vanity mirror in the bathroom, telephone broken, …
Room serviced poorly: bins not emptied, towels taken but not replaced, very limited toilet roll provision.
Were moved to a club room on the 10th floor after two nights of being harassed by children running amok along the corridor, banging on doors, etc. Club room slightly better (2 chairs, newer carpet, same old bathroom). No working extractor fan in either bathroom.
Breakfast ok, but don’t expect saucers with your cup.
Staff are generally trying to be helpful but there is clearly a lack of training, customer care knowledge and personal touch. It’s like a steam train that runs anyway: this is London and the hotel is in a desirable location.
Overall, it needs a full refurbishment and personal touch.
