Smoky hotel
We checked out of the hotel within an hour of checking in. For one, the hotel did not seem safe. The doors leading into the building from the parking lot had a broken lock on it and the window in our room had no latch. Mostly, we left becuase our room and the whole hallway smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke (we were in a non-smoking room). If you are not a smoker DO NOT stay in this hotel, you will be miserable. The only positive was that the man working the front desk was very polite and friendly.

America worst inn. noisy, holes on the quilt, Allergic caused by the dirty bed. too low pillow with out any elasticity.

Better than I expected...
While I did not have any problems with the staff and the rooms were ok to a degree, I feel that as far as feeling a sense of security is somewhat of a problem. But I do want to stress that the staff were very friendly and accommodating to any requests that I had. I had to take high school girls to Urbana for a State Competition and would need to be in a hotel where I would have not have to have such a high concern for security. After booking this hotel at the last minute because all of the other hotels were booked and seeing the reviews after the fact, I feel that this hotel is not as bad as the other reviews say it is. If you want a five star hotel, make your reservations at the more upscale hotels such as the Hilton, Sheraton, etc.

Horrible. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in...
Stayed at this hotel for the 2011 Champaign Half Marathon on 4.30.11-5.1.11. It's got to be one of the worst I've stayed in... ever. The "security" door into the hotel could just be pulled open. The room itself was dirty and smelled like an old ashtray. There was also no hot water for the shower either at night - or the next morning. Save your money. You're better off camping - or staying the night in your car than staying at this dump.

Would never recommend this hotel
The hotel had such a smell to it that we couldn't get past that after checking in. Had to pay a fee to cancel and leave. would rather sleep in my car than put my head on a pillow in that hotel. Luckily, we found another place to stay. A cab driver told us that the hotel is noted as being an "HOURLY" hotel. Need we say more?

Will use the Hotel again.
A basic, clean Hotel with friendly staff. Although we had booked two nights on a very busy weekend, we we came a day late. The owner who is at the front desk most of the time had kept our room reserved and took fifty dollars off the final bill even though , he was well within his right to charge us for both nights. He was also very helpful.

The Worst Hotel Ever !!!
There is nothing in this hotel except the bed , bathroom and TV. the heater didn't work, no iron or irony table, no hair dryer, the bathroom was not clean, np toilet paper, no shampoo....... so I think this hotel should be awarded the worst hotel prize and expedia must remove it from its list !!!

Great price. Convinient from UIUC
This is one of most affordable place I found in Urbana-Champaigne area. It is well within walking distance from UIUC campus (~15 minute). There is also a nice park across the street. The hotel is old, but the room was in a good condition. Bathroom was also quite nice. Typically what you expect in a cheap room. Nothing to complain at all. The owner was helpful, and I was not charged for a night which I missed due to flight delay.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
We knew right when we pulled in that this place was not going to be a pleasant place to stay. The lobby smelled of curry and was not well kept. They gave us our room key (an actual key not a card swiper!) we were not pleased at all. The furniture and decor was the same as in the 70's and the whole room smelled musty and smokey. There was no way I would've touched that bed--and don't even get me started on the bathroom. To say the least, we walked in and walked right back out. Expedia was nice and gave us a voucher for our troubles. We went right up the road and stayed at the Sleep Inn for $10 more and it was very nice and clean. We later heard from some locals that this hotel is often used at an hourly rate as well, so draw your own conclusions. Expedia should take it off of their list! So unless you're a lady of the night or a crackhead, don't stay here!

a cheap stay in urbana
Overall the stay was decent. Although it was not the nicest hotel, it was definitely worth the money I paid and was a lot nicer than i expected for less than fifty dollars. Anyone that is looking for a cheap place to sleep that is visiting U of I or Champaign/Urbana would be smart to look into this hotel.

Can't escape the smell....
My son-in-law said the smell was carpet glue; if that was the case then why the old yucky carpet remains is a mystery. The smell of smoke permeated my room even though it was billed as a non-smoking room. The desk clerk was very friendly and informative about the area and offered sugggestions helpful to me in getting the hospital security to escort me back the the hotel from the hospital if I desired to walk. It was rainy and snowy so I drove but it was very walkable to the hospital.

They charge me crerdit card for an extra night after I checked out.
Make sure you don't give them your credit card # they will fraud you. Hotel very run down. Hot water in shower is bad really hard to take one. I used this hole just because I couldn't find any other hotel in the area.
