The reason for this was for a short visit with family. We didn’t expect a fancy accommodation since we weren’t spending very much time in the actual room. We did expect a clean, comfortable room. This room was not clean or comfortable. The bathroom was in poor condition: the shower curtain had rips, there were spiders living in their webs, the tub had a faint ring and the white shower walls had various indistinct smears. The couch was badly stained and was uneven, indicating it had been worn way beyond its acceptable use. The carpets had stains and the molding around the floors were peeling away from the wall. The towels were as tough as Brillo pads used to scour dirty dishes. The guests in the room above could be easily heard. From their footsteps to other sounds that should not be heard so easily. There seemed to be an argument or some other disruption outside of our room that was very disruptive. The two remotes were sticky to the touch. The few conversations with the front desk regarding basic guest questions (for ex, the WiFi passcode, which was not initially provided) was met with rude and short responses, lacking basic customer service. Considering the amount we spent for our stay, we expected a better, cleaner experience. There were other competitors charging a fraction of the amount per day but we expected a better quality stay for the amount spent with the Holiday Inn Express. We will not ever spend another dime with this chain.
