Salish Inn was a decent stay. Seemed clean, efficient, the front desk was very friendly and helpful, parking lot seemed safe with good lighting, room was clean and well-maintained.
Downsides were the bed sheets that were a satin-y polyester material with an ill-fitting bottom sheet that wouldnt stay on the bed, leaving obe to wake up on an uncovered slightly stained mattress. The room doors are also VERY heavy and make a LOUD clang every time the door is closed (early morning or late at night). The breakfast included was very underwhelming.
Overall, I would stay here again despite the shortcomings if the rate is reasonable. The location is great for visiting the islands, coastal towns, Bellingham, etc. The Thai restaurant next door was great. With a few minor improvements (combining the breakfast and front desk / lobby offerings under one or two staff similar to how Scandanvian countries handle it), some better fitted cotton sheets, and a door dampening liner tape, and this would be a top-notch stay.
