I've stayed at Moxy hotels in Vienna and Prague at a fraction of the price, and was blown away by the quality of the service, the rooms etc.
Back here in the UK the rooms are smaller, almost double the price, the reception area was much busier, and the music was louder in the reception area than it needed to be – making check in difficult. I love the whole Moxy concept, but it seemed to work better in those other cities.
Also, instead of the 'welcome drink' that I got in those other places, it was a brown paper bag with a bottle of water, a muffin and a piece of fruit. I thought the whole idea of inviting guests to enjoy a drink at the bar was to encourage guests to socialise etc. I know Bristol well, having lived there for many years, but will try somewhere else next time.
