This was the worst hotel I ever stayed in. Ants and spiders in the room. Elevator felt like a risk of falling every time we used it. Just a stack of towels and wash rags in pile on sink counter-only two hooks to hang them on back of door. Sink and tub had no drain covers - if dropped something would never get it back. Mini fridge on floor - had to get on knees to see in it. Small micro wave on top of mini fridge - had to bend over to operate. When first arrived in room went to turn on AC and it was covered with ants - also on bed side table night. This hotel's advertisement in Hotel.com makes it look much better and has the water park 'Safari Joes' attached. I had kids with me and would have loved to do the water park fun for a day even at the extra cost of $29 per person. I was there Wed & Thu and found out the water park is only open Fri/Sat/Sun. I was really disappointed with this scam hotel. This hotel shouldn't be allowed to advertise in Hotel.com.
A storm caused a local power outage around 1:00 am. The hotel had no functioning generator so A/C and lights did not work. Room became very hot, shower in the morning was ice cold because there was no hot water. Emergency lights were not functioning so hallways and stairways were dark, a huge safety issue. Power outage was not the hotel's fault but they should have a generator and emergency lights should not have failed. Also, makes you wonder if fire alarm would have worked if such an emergency had occured.
The hotel is under renovation. Prior to the power outage only one of the two elevators worked, and it was not working well. One of the stairways had carpeting removed and just old carpet padding, with the strips containing carpet nails exposed. Breakfast area had plastic hanging from the ceiling where construction is underway. This hotel should be closed during such major renovation.
The tv didnât work at all. No plug in sink or bathtub. Not enough towels. Very small amount of soap, etc. We couldnât give the kids baths. We changed rooms. The website advertised a pool. We wanted to take our grandkids in the pool for a short time. This was after a day at the beach and splash pad. No one said there was a water park instead of a pool. So we we had to pay $80 for a short visit because we hadnât planned on going to a water park. But once the kids see it how could we not go?
Arrived Thursday and found the room not as clean as it should have been. No soap or shampoo in the shower. Cobwebs on the bottom of the bed. A storm came through on Thursday night knocking out the power in the building which wasnât there fault I get. With no airconditioning and tempts at 90. The room was unbairable. None of the hotels machines were working. We spent the rest of the night in the dark room. The next morning went to the front desk and were informed the had no idea when the electric would be back on. Told them we werenât gonna stay another night. They offered me a refund for the following day but refused to compensate me for the night we spent with no electricity no working Ice machine and a room that was dirty and not stocked with normal accessories soap, shampo. With the elevators not working and the lights out in the hallways we had to take our luggage down three floors in the dark. Manager didnât care what so ever. Weâre in the area quite often I will never recommend or stay here again.
We had a good night sleep, but after breakfast we couldnât go back up to our room. Neither elevator worked. My husband and I are both disabled and couldnât take stairs up to the third floor. Dwaine was very polite and kept trying to reset elevator, but wouldnât work. Not to mention we had to deal with the smell of paint. The hotel was remodeling. Dwaine was finally able to reset the elevator, but told us we only had probable 30 minutes to get our stuff and leave. My husband wasnât able to take shower as planned. We had stayed the night before and only one elevator was working at that time.
Pool is only weekend. Weekday had almost no breakfast. Smelled funny. 2nd floor was under construction. Shower didn't get hot. Bird poop on window. No bathtub plug. Tub was gross.
I reserved the property for the pool access, I called to verify pool was working before making the reservation, they had the pool closed 3 of the 4 days I was there, the weather was bad and they didnât keep the parking lot or sidewalks cleared.
Check in seems confused how to check us in. The room was cheaply redone and already falling apart. We tried to leave out of the side doors and they were bolted shut. The pools were freezing and and the while area was showing ahigns of lack of maintenance. The fire alarm went off the second day we were there and we couldn't get out of the boltes shut doors and the owners disnt care about the guest even pushing aside a kid to get ahead of them. They claimed it was nothing but the fire department was there ovwr an hour while we waited in the car barfoot and in swimsuits. My family didn't feel safe and the owner was was upswt we wanted to leave gave us some money back but nothing really in competition for the hassle they put ua through. Almost forgot got locked of our room and they just gave me a screw driver and batteries and told me i had to change the batteries out on our lock because the manger was out getting lunch.
Was not very clean, overall. Definitely needs a deep cleaning. Also need a maintenance man who assses the rooms and fixes broken things. Such as curtain that are broken and will not close properly. Just one example as there are many....
