Rock hard beds, no drapes on windows.
First I would like to say the the property is a grand old house, lovely period decorations and furniture. The host seemed friendly and helpful. They have a well stocked guest kitchen area which was nice.
We stayed in the Rose room, I would have to say generally the room was uncomfortable. It was decorated nice in period stuff but was uncomfortable. There are a few things that have made this possibly one of the worse experiences of our lives. the bed was like rock, extremely hard, like xtra hard!! There are no curtins/drapes on the bay window, so the street lighting shines in all night, making the room very bright whilst trying to sleep on the rock!!.. Also there is an internal window above the room door with no curtain or cover on it, the lights from the guest common lounge shine in all night.
I don't suffer from back problems, but I could barely walk the next day after lying in bed all night cos I sure wasn't sleeping. This experience has unfortunately ruined our days planned hikes as both of us can barely walk around.
Unfortunately it seems like a nice period inn but the overnight stay was horrible and I can't recommend you even think of staying here unless of course you appreciate a good rock hard bed and bright light room to sleep in!!!!
