The room was cold both during the day and night, with a central cooling system that didnât allow guests to adjust the temperature.
Breakfast was good on the first day, but the quality dropped afterward. For example sausage was missing yesterday, and today there was not enough cheese.
The stay got off to a wrong start as we walked down Rue Moreau from the Prefontaine (green line) metro station to the hotel. We did not feel safe as the apartments and businesses along the street seemed quite run-down with broken windows and graffiti.
Check-in was complicated by our inability to complete their online forms in advance (hint to businesses: if you want your customers to fill out forms on line, make sure that it can be done on various devices including iPhones).
The hotel is old and has been re-purposed multiple times. The room was small and clean with a tiny bathroom but included a refrigerator. The continental breakfast in the morning was modest but good. The coffee was good and the toaster has seen better days.
If you want to walk to the metro, take Rue Dezery, it is much nicer.
I was trying to save money. It was rated as a 7/10, so I thought it would be sufficient.
It was a grungy place. The breakfast didn't offer things like eggs or bacon. They didn't have any conditioner available. The rooms were not thoroughly cleaned.
My partner used a facecloth that made her face tingly. She felt sick afterwards.
I will never go back, and I'm not being dramatic. Spend a little more for a hotel chain where you won't be UNpleasantly surprised.
It was a decent place to stay for the money. The area is a little sketchy but you're only a 10 min drive from downtown except in rush hour. We actually walked to old downtown montreal in about an hour because we had time to spare. The breakfast leaves a little to be desired but again you get what you pay for. The room was roomy enough, bed was comfortable and the shower, water pressure, and hot water supply were all good. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
We had parked new car in the assigned parking area in front of the hotel. The receptionist had assured us that it was safe and considered hotel property. However, our car was stolen. There was no one at the front desk at the time. When we tried calling the manager, they ignored our calls. After waiting for a while with no response, we called 911. The police arrived and informed us that this area is not safe and that such incidents are common here.
We stayed one night and we were comfortable in the room. It was noisy (you can hear other rooms) but we always use white noise machines so this was not a problem. The bed was average for comfort. The staff was very friendly. The common areas left to be desired, need some work to make it more inviting.
Clean hotel, friendly staff, however extremely small room, very small washroom specially the shower is so so small that I couldn't wash my self properly, parking is limited, free parking around the hotel only finally the breakfast could of been better, toaster wasn't working properly, warm but not hot coffee and limited hours for having breakfast.
