Good
Located in Little Italy, everything was close by. Gaya Street (the older part of town), the waterfront promenade, multiple shopping malls and lots of restaurants are just a minute’s walk away. The ferry terminal to Labuan (and then from there to Brunei) was an easy 5-10 minutes’ walk. The bus from the airport (5 ringit) stops a few blocks away, taxi from the airport was 30 ringit (45 ringit at 2am).
We stayed at the Capital on two occasions for a total of three nights in February 2016. Both rooms (1001 and 802) looked recently refurbished and clean. However tear and wear started to show already (with renovations still ongoing).
During our 2nd stay we were in room 802. Upon entering, the room smelled like the guest before us had smoked in the room.
Both rooms looked to the street with partial sea view, had nice bathrooms, big comfy beds and good A/C. The free wi-fi worked well, but was rather slow. A safe, big enough for a 13’’ laptop was available in the room.
Soundproofing from the outside is solved very nicely. But noise from the floor was clearly audible and disturbing.
Staff was kind and helpful. Keeping a piece of our luggage in between our two stays was no issue.
