An amazing find
I'm glad I stumbled on this hotel while looking for a place to stay in Seoul. I was looking for somewhere central enough but not too touristy.
It's located in an area where there are a few universities so it's mostly the student crowds that are found here. Students mean student-friendly prices from food to clothes to shopping. There is also a stream nearby which you can follow either way which will lead you to Seoul's central district by foot.
The hotel is divided into 2 buildings. I stayed at the older building which was still quite comfortable and cosy. Although the room looked a bit tired and could use a refresh, it was constantly kept clean and well stocked by the competent and hardworking housekeeping staff. One thing I really loved about this hotel was the quality and quantity of the free single use toiletries they provided. I ended up keeping the leftovers to take back with me!
It was very cold in Seoul in my first 2 days but there was underfloor heating and the toilet was a Japanese one so even the seat was heated.
The breakfast is nothing to write home about. Very spare and simple and the hotel is very honest about this. I only tried it once but if you're not fussy about breakfast then you should be ok. I was more interested in trying out the cheap places around the hotel. There are convenience stores all over the hotel and one just directly opposite.
The owner Charlie and his staff or family (it felt like a family-run hotel) were very friendly and helpful.
