What Was
The lobby looked nice, but the individual who checked us in offered no information about the hotel. The color scheme was dark throughout the hotel. When walking to the restaurant, the sewage smell was prominent. I grew up in Pikeville, and there was a time when the Landmark Inn hotel and restaurant was top notch. This was a disappointing experience overall.

stayed extra day to visit more with great granddat
the hotel room we had was nie enough.the problem was trying to get the door open,it stuck really bad,to the point my wife could not pull it open even when properly unlocked for access.the other problem could have been the parking.there wereonly two handicap spots available for the whole front section (3floors )we were in.fortunately we were able to park in an unauthorized lot because it (the first night) was the weekend.we just had to get back to the hotel early in the pm after that to ensure we got one of the 2 handicap spaces.I suspect this parking problem exists throughout this area as space is at a premium everywhere.the hotel room itself,other than being configured weirdly was fine.the weird thing was the bathroom sink beihg right by the entrance then after traversing the hallway into the room,you see the bathroom on the right.If you use the bathroom toilet then you have to come out into the bedroom,down the hall to wash your hands..

Outside the chains
First time coming to Pikeville and wanted to stay away from one of the chain hotels. I’m glad I did. Staff was wonderful, room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.

The stay was very comfortable. The customer service was great, with everyone I spoke with. They are very accommodating as well. I asked for an hour earlier check-in, as well as adding a night to my stay and they were very nice about it. The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. Perfect location. Only negative is there is a lot of road noise. But I would definitely book here again. The price is great.

This is a great old former high end motel that is making a much needed rebirth. First the staff was exceptionally friendly and Johnny on the spot with any needs. The rooms have all new furniture and decor with very comfortable bedding. The rooms had mini fridges, microwave, coffee maker and iron and board. The outside is still undergoing remodeling and thus a substantial part of the parking was taken up for construction and equipment, but that is a temporary inconvenience. Oh, and by the way, a phenomenal Mexican restaurant on the 4th floor of the motel. I found it a surprisingly wonderful experience for the price.
