Unfriendly staff, smelly rooms, worn furnishings
We have stayed at this hotels 6 times since its opening ca 8 ys ago.
This stay was utterly disappointing.
The room we were assigned "welcomed" us with a revolting blend of foul smells: damp/mold & sewage odours in the bathroom, and a smelly carpet.
Upon our request we were reassigned to a different room which had the same foul smell in the bathroom and a slightly less unpleasant smell in the bedroom.
Furnishings in both rooms were well worn, some were stained.
Not much in the way of an apology was offered. The receptionist shared, instead, that the hotel has had smell issues and that renovations are on the way.
The breakfast room personnel was unfriendly and unmotivated, very unlike any of the other places we have stayed in Japan over the years.
This place has decayed from what used to be a real Ginza gem in their early years of operation to an overpriced, poorly maintained tourist-trap.
