**Accommodating Staff with Room Key Oversight**
My recent stay at the hotel was marked by a mix of both positive and challenging experiences. The hotel staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality and went out of their way to accommodate us, especially during a difficult situation.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our train derailed, causing us to arrive close to midnight, well past the regular check-in time. Despite the late hour, a dedicated employee woke up and went downstairs to receive us, ensuring we could settle in comfortably. As a result of the mix-up, I was given a great room, but unfortunately, there was no key available. This meant I had to cross through my friend's room to access mine.
The key oversight led to an unexpected challenge the next morning when I was locked out of my room. Despite the hotel staff's efforts, they did not have a spare key for the room. After waiting for about 30 minutes, they had to resort to breaking a window to grant me access. Fortunately, this incident did not cause us to miss our scheduled Machu Picchu tour.
To prevent similar incidents in the future, I suggest that the hotel keeps handy copies of keys to rooms, ensuring that guests do not face inconvenience or delays in accessing their accommodations. Despite these challenges, I appreciate the efforts of the hotel staff and their commitment to ensuring a comfortable stay for their guests.
