The location is quite good. 3 min to Hammersmith tube station. A basic public kitchen and a luggage room. But the room is quite small, and the toilet is not working properly sometimes. Anyway, it is not a severe problem for daily use, given the price.
We paid around 60 pounds a night for a private room with private bathroom which was good for London. The room was very basic as predicted but the service and feel of the place felt very cold - imagine a mix between an asylum/old people’s home/hospital. For example the reception had a glass screen with a hole to transfer things like keys and credit cards as if you’re at a ticket booth. If you just need a clean place to sleep it’s good but if you want to feel warm and welcomed into London I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Good zone, really close to Hammersmith Station.
For a cheap & cheerful hotel I have no complaints. Was surprised that the communal showers and toilet facilities (more than one set of each on the floor I was on) were not gender specific, meaning I needed to get both dry and re-dressed in a soaking wet shower cubical (but then I was not brave enough to walk the corridors wearing nothing but a towel and smile). Plenty of kitchen facilities on the floor for those that want to make their own food and beverages (bring your own tea bags). The (single) bed was comfortable enough, but with a deep mattresses it meant the single bed sheet didn’t tuck in properly. I guess that comfort comes at a sacrifice. The location is a quiet side street just off Hammersmith’s notorious one way system, but you wouldn’t have known it. There’s a fantastic pub (The Queens Head Brook Green) in walking distance, and the Hammersmith Broadway Centre (inc. Picc / Dist underground station) with the typical fast food outlets and shops within 3 minutes walk) Classy hotel it isn’t (nor does it pretend to be. Clean and functional it is. Lacking a few home comforts, but would I stay there again... absolutely!!
