The river is mostly inaccessible to public fishing, and the trout are fed regularly, so some of the best fly fishing in NC is literally in the back yard. Nestled inside the Nantahala National Forest, this property literally puts everything you want to see and do in Western NC right at your fingertips, so wildlife, including amazing trout fishing literally from the yard, abounds. We maintain a private trail system that consists of roughly a 2.5 mile loop, featuring 6 names falls, and scores of other beautiful creeks and river areas to explore and play. It's like having a dozen of the most popular hiking trails and falls in Western NC, but having them all to yourself in a very condensed, private area. Our guests are always overwhelmed that it's actually true, and even better then they imagined. We love sharing our dream come true property!

**Things to keep in mind about Western NC - There are bugs, thunderstorms, little to no cell signals in the entire area of Western NC, and communications are almost exclusively via satellite, so please know that being in nature does come with some risks, but we do all we can to work around them by offering satellite internet that has several hours of backup power supply, landline phones (w/ free long distance), and close proximity to town.
Additional Note on Connectivity - From this property, we're able to work, make calls over wifi as well as landline, and conduct Zoom meetings and attend school via online classes. We actually have two satellites dedicated to Wi-Fi, just in case of a hardware crash, etc, so we have twice the capacity of other cabins, and redundancy in equipment. The WiFi systems also have battery backup, so even in a power outage the internet still works. We're also in the process of adding an entire house backup automatic power supply, which will be completed in late 2020. Also, the landline phone works with or without electricity, so that calls can always be made in or out during an emergency, or simply for convenience. We're trying to offer the best combination package of connectivity available in Western NC, but there will not be cell phone service at the house, or pretty much anywhere in the county that you plan to hike or drive.
