8/10 Very Good

When a room is bad, don’t put people in it.
The hotel is gorgeous but the wait to check in took over 30 minutes. We were pleased with the luggage delivery service. Food service staff, towel staff, drivers, and most everyone was wonderful. Front desk staff were not wonderful. Our room upon arrival was loud and cold. The thermostat was set to permanent cold air and could not be changed. The TV was stuck on with loud volume. The remote control didn’t work and we couldn’t unplug it. We called the front desk and someone arrived soon to inspect the tv. It was a bad remote control he said. As we froze in the room, I tried to warm up in the shower but no hot water arrived!! The hot water was out. I called the front desk to ask for a room upgrade and said we would pay anything to get out of that room but was told nothing was available and check back in the morning. We seriously considered leaving the property but with two kids, we stayed. The next morning, we called about the upgrade and were told nothing was available. The third day with cold showers, I went back to the desk to beg because we were so cold in the room and there was no hot water. It was such punishment- we would pay any price for an upgrade. They said no upgrade was available but placed us in a new building after maintenance confirmed our report about the water and thermostat. I wish they would have taken care of us on our first arrival instead of making a chunk of our vacation uncomfortable.

As we arrived we were put in a room that had a leaking air conditioner. They did send a maintenance person to fix it and we were told to go to eat, while the problem was fixed. We came back two hours later and it looked ok, but the floor was dirty and wasn’t cleaned. We took or thing out of our bags and tried to go to sleep. At this moment the water from the ceiling started to drip harder than it did before. We tried to call the front desk but the room phone didn’t work. After we found the number on the web, we got a hold of the front desk and were told they will send a person to fix the problem by instead they sent a guy with a mop. So of course he couldn’t do anything and we had to call the reception again, and finally got to talk to the supervisor. He offered us a different room and said that someone will be there to help us with our luggage. We put all our things back in to our bags and came downstairs to wait for the staff member to come. Just to mention this was 10:30 pm, and no one bothered to come to see us until I went to the front desk and got the new key and new room number. It wasn’t to far so we walked there and finally by 12:45 we finally got in to bed. Tired and upset. After 18 hours of travelling and problems. The problem is that even having mi phone number they could not call us to see how we were doing and find out where we were, late at night. The property is very big and on your first night it’s very easy to get lost especially in the dark so this kind of

2/10 Poor

The grounds are beautiful if you want a jungle vibe. Amenities are quite far from the rooms. Man made beach and adult fresh water pool are very cool. Staff is great. The food is absolutely inedible. It was not fresh, there was no variety, heavily processed , low quality. Hardly any fresh fruit and veg options, very questionably cooked protein options
