I had a room straight across from the lift, so noisy! The staff also congregated there at night at a book beside the lift so I had to put up with chatter until they decided they were done.
Check in was a joke - I arrived a couple hours before and had to leave my luggage in a huge unlocked room, part of the dining area. Where people could freely walk in and out. When I asked the attendant how safe it was I barely got a mumble. Then the woman who checked me in proceeded to give her colleague, who was loud as hell, side eye and stopped what she had to say to just stare at him. It was uncomfortable.
Noise in the surrounding area was also too much. Dump trucks, people, sirens. I get it’s NYC and you have to expect that but only to a degree. Hotels should be sound proof enough to deal with it. I was literally being woken out of my sleep. Not what you want when you’re jet lagged.
Room was clean but I had a massive crack in the window. Bed was higher than my hip, I literally had to jump up to it.
All in all, a displeasure of a stay. Even more of a sting considering the higher price I paid. Do NOT recommend.
