Disappointing Stay: Poor Service and Maintenance
Unfortunately, my recent stay at this hotel in Iowa was very disappointing. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable shortage of staff or sense of urgency; wait times at the front desk consistently ranged from 5 to 10 minutes.
The condition of the room was unacceptable. There was a strong, unpleasant odor, almost as if animals had urinated inside. While the beds were made, the sheets were stained, ripped, and clearly worn out. Several light fixtures didn’t work properly, and the cable television consistently cut out around midnight. The bathroom was also very dirty, with visible grime and mold in some areas, and the ceiling showed clear signs of water damage with sagging pockets likely caused by leaks.
Housekeeping was nonexistent during our stay. No one came to clean the room or take out the trash. We had to repeatedly request fresh towels and ended up taking our own trash outside. Each time we needed assistance, we had to chase down staff just to get basic support.
Overall, the experience was far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here until major improvements are made in cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.
