Not the Swiss hotel chain you get used to it
When you book in a Swiss hotel chains, you expect a standard. Forget it!
Movenpick Aqaba had better times, I am sure, but nowdays, you better to choose Kempinski.
My problems:
- I paid more for a room with a balcony but couldn't use it bc it was full with birdshit
- on our room's floor was a big old dirt
- the bathtub enamel was so old and damaged, couldn't use with a kid
- I asked a banana for my kid at 7pm, they said will be in the room an hour later ... they tried to deliver at 11pm (travel with a 3 years old!!!!) and the phone ringed a few minutes later too
- the AC wasn't working
- the second day they ringed us again after 8pm
- when I asked help with the luggages they said just ring the 0 and they will send a man ... I ringed it and the woman was such lack of english language skills, could't understand what I want so I needed to bring down our luggages
- when I paid for the extra (I prepaid the room and the food) they give back less, said they have no more money
- there were a few of the hotel staff who were nice and can speak English, but others was hard to get what you want from them and seemed they are offering a bed but not hospitality
- poor/no wifi connection on the beach and at the room too
The good things:
- the food is nice
- the pools and the garden are beautiful
- the location is very good
- if you have luck and find the good members of the staff they are extremly helpful
