On arrival it looked like it had been used for government contracts, very tired and in need of a face lift, staff were very helpful and breakfast in morning was top notch
1st room had a very dirty toilet. We were moved to another room as there were no cleaning staff on duty.
2nd room was adequate. Room was warm and stuffy. Small double bed.
Food was good.
Staff were welcoming.
Mediocre Western at best!
A bathtub that wouldnât drain, the tape holding the panel onto the tub, the picture without glass, the blood stained mattress protector, the cracked and dirty China ware - just some of the negative elements found at this hotel during my stay. The reception staff were all exceptionally polite and courteous. The issue with the non-draining tub needed reporting twice. Public areas and my room were all very clean, the rooms; the very reason people use a hotel could desperately do with some of the magic already provided to the bar & restaurant area.
Excellent parking offered at no charge.
Would I stay again? Possibly.
No remote for tv then reception found one, which had a mind of it's own as to wether it wanted to work or not...
Milk on tea tray out of date (some Oct 24 rest March 25)
Very tired room
Arrived after driving all night from Scotland for a family funeral in Reading area. Allocated rooms 3&9 the corridor had a horrible smell and the rooms looked like they required a full refurbishment. We went straight to bed as we were all shattered. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom tap leaked as did the shower and was extremely noisy. Got woken up at 5am with the Fire alarm being set off, for the record this had not been logged at reception. We should have complained at the time but were too tired and straight out to attend funeral next day.
We were visiting our son who lived a 5 min drive away.
It was really only somewhere for us to sleep wash and have breakfast. The hotel was ideal for us. People were very friendly and breakfast was lovely.
