I travel frequently for both work and fun, and I cannot recall ever having had such a bad experience with check-in.
After making the reservation, I received several e-mails; all showed the address of the property, and none indicated that I should do anything other than check in at that address upon arrival. When I arrived, however, there was no office and nothing that explained where to check in. Only by asking other guests did I discover that one is supposed to check in at a completely different property several miles away - and those guests said they had the same problem upon check in.
When I got to the other property, the lady at the desk was courteous and helpful. She said I should I have received a text with a link that explained the check-in procedures. Although I had received a text, it did not include the name of the property where I had made my reservation; in fact, it included the name of a different property. Moreover, none of the e-mails had said anything about receiving a text. Thus, I determined this text was a phishing attempt and blocked the number.
Once I finally got into the room, it was clean and comfortable. So, overall: the room was good and the staff was very nice, but the check-in experience is severely lacking. Thus, the score is only average.
